A stainless steel metal box to replace the horrid plastic centre detail (the one that surrounds the gear shaft and the handbrake, it only seems to collect bits and fluff). What I was thinking was a metal box about six inches high by 4.5 inches wide, and with a curved top. It would have two holes in obviously for the the gearstick and the handbrake (I would craft two gaiters for each one). The top wouldn't be flat, it would be totally curved, like an upside down 'U'. Anyone know who makes these? I could do the hole cutting, and provide the dimensions. Has to be the same material exhausts are made from (ie. stainless steel) Oh, it would be bolted in through exposed, er, bolts (or allen key bolts).

PS sorry if I sound simple in this, I've just woken up!;)

do a GOOD drawing - mark all the lengths out, curve dimentions etc etc etc

take to local "sheet metal" workshop.

wander in, ask an old boy to make it for you in exchange for a few beer tokens.

easy :D
