i meant running 2.5 injection on a 3l as ive got a 3l in my nova with throttle bodies but they aint set up, so i was going to put 2.5 injection on till i get a remap sorted for my bodies
Well, yes it will go on, but check out the compression ratio calculations first. The volume of the combustion chambers is very small compared to the 3ltr heads.
If you can, try and get some 3ltr heads + inj setup, it would be a bit easier.
As for the throttle bodies. Have you tried increasing the induction length? ( Longer trumpets?) SRE set those bodies up for a 10k+rpm power range. They should go much better with a longer trumpet on.
im running dta ecu, do you the crack with these bodies of mine , i bought them off a bloke who i think comes on here,and he told me they were already set up but i fitted them and they run like ****e i think his name is tony b could be wrong
Well, they will be setup to a degree. Unfortunately setup on one engine is not setup on another engine. It's very hard to just swap them across.
It's a shame you're not down south, otherwise you could have come along to the meet and we could have looked at setting them up better. They sounded well out of balance, and it also sounded like you were running on about 4 or 5 cyl at Billing
Has it got any better than that yet? You would do wise to balance them up properly if you haven't done that yet..
Don't remember the engine. But if you've gone to SRE, you're likely to have picked up a few other bits than just the throttle bodies I would have thought. Cams would have been next on the list, and if it's flooding, then that's probably the main difference.
If you know it's overfuelling, why can't you just do some tweeking with the DTA?
Sorry I dont know what other mods the Mk1 had. Have seen pics of this before and heard mention of it though. From what I remember power was dissapointing to what people would expect it to kick out. Think the general feeling was that it was down to the induction length being too short.
Oddball has those photos stored and Im sure he knows a bit about it.
