iv been left with this card board sheet after taking the roof linning off,
it seems to be glued on with a kind of thick hard brittle rubber/glue to the roof skin
after an attempt with a hair dryer and spatula, i managed to rip off a corner of the card
and a crumb of the rubber
has anyone come accross a solution for getting this stuff of?
BTW its a polo 6N
To get all the glue and stuff off the inside of my car, I used "sticky stuff remover" which is made by JelSol I think. it comes in a purple aerosol and is for removing sticky labels, chewing gum etc etc. It worked a treat on all the glues used to hold my flimsy pugs trim on.
I have used an angle grinder with a knotted brush attachment to get rid of all the crap from the interior, and the exterior under the wheels arches, etc. I should really take some piccies soon. It will work ok on the glue, but the cardboard or whatever should be removed first really.
Also try white spirit, as it seems to attack most glues.

carb cleaner did a pucker job on my floor, if a little expensive. i;d go with cellulose thinners in future as you get more of a buzz from the fumes and its cheap at a pound per litre.
lol. I found that thinners took too much paint + primer off. White spirit really attacked the glue, but left the paint alone pretty much. Either would do a grand job though
It might be that the mantas internal paint is more of a dusting than an actual coat of paint really. Either way, working in a small place with lots of chemicals can be fun!
il try white spirit 1st then, these polos seem to have a crappy green/cream/beige
spray job on the inside VW saving cash, ******s
