    Cavaliers Mk1 Mk2 and Mk3

    Bought another Cavalier!

Not just any though. Got to be one of the rarest left this time!

First owner was Vauxhall themselves, the lady who traded it in in December had had it from April 1982 and its never been off the road in that time. Current MOT expires on the 32'nd aniversary of its registration!!

It needs front wings, both are basically f**ked. Theres a big gouge in the pass door and rear 1/4 but none of this cauese me any mojor problems. This is going to be my rally car, for proper use and abuse. Its perfect for it really. Got the Mk2 to mintify and cherish so this one will work for its living. Redtop is first on the list I think, then all being well and assuming I can find the bits it'll ultimatly be an Ascona 400 rep. I'd like to MSA logbook it and do all the required stuff to use it at proer stage rallies eventually.

So yes, I now own a Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3 Cavalier. This means the Mk3 must go but Im halfway through V6'ing that at the moment!

Wow that brings back memories, my parents used to have an S plate in the same colour 1.8 or 1.9 not quite sure, had it for years didn't rust at all which was strange for an old vaux.

    Cavaliers Mk1 Mk2 and Mk3

    Re: Bought another Cavalier!

I had to have it when I saw it advertised. Been thinking about a Mk1 Cav for a while now and this is the best one to get in my book!

I'll give the spoiler a miss Dave! Although I think ironically where the wrong yellow has been used on this car that they went for Pineapple Yellow!

short term plan is to see how it goes for the next 7 weeks of MOT then its into the yard for storage untill winter. I've also got a G reg SRi 8v Mk3, its halfway through a V6 swap and needs the arches done along with MOT. I'll sell that now though after doing all the work. Got it so cheap I should be able to at least break even. After that, sort out the last few things I want to do with the Mk2 for the summer and then turn my attention to the Mk1. Am thinking redtop but a mate who saw it tonight reckons 3.0 V6.... which does tempt me a little given the price of conversion parts for the redtop RWD these days.
