Saab engine in Cav MK2 - FAO Astra Nige?

    Hi all, new here..
Just got me a Cav mk2 in great condition, signed up to mk2cav.com and was talking about my plans, which include putting a b204l (I think) engine in my cav, its the type that has the dizzy cap like the older motors, 2.0 Turbo...

Richie on there advised me to come on here and get a Loom off Astra Nige, if your about mate get in contact as this seems a must

Anyway, will start a progress thread shortly, its a really clean old motor

    Thanks in advance, Lee

    Mk2 cav

Re: Saab engine in Cav MK2 - FAO Astra Nige?

Theres a guy on mk2cav.com thats already done it with a decent build thread. He`s used the f28 boxso had tomake the mounts for that. The saab engine mount bolts up fine under the chassis rail on the drivers side.
The b204`s dont have a dizzy as they`re direct ignition, they`ve got the red di pack on top.I think the dizzy ones are non turbo.

yes sorry my mistake, just had to go check it was the non turbo one that had the dizzy - Doh!!

Just found out the turbo was blown on this engine so its now a no go, but, been offered a 2.3T Saab lump instead as replacement, any thoughts/views on this, will it fit?? Hmmm

hi lee sorry ive only just seen this tread looks like you have moved on to a c20xe which will be a far easier fit than the b204 or b234, the 2.3 is a longer lump than the 2.0 so will need a lot of modification to the chassis so will the 2.0 litre apparently but im not 100% on that if you were to use a f20 gearbox you would have 2 of the 3mounts sorted straight away, if you decide to change your mind and want any advice let me know
