Hi, my mate craig (cmac86 on here) is wanting to go to the ring again this year. We went in 2010 for the first time, and it was a fantastic experiance.
I thought id put the info on here to see if theres any interest for scottish and north of england memebers. (currently 6 cars interested in going, but no doubt 1 or 2 wont make it for what ever reason)
Here is what craig had written up:
"Just putting the feelers out to see who would be interested in a trip to the Ring in April this year.
5th April to 9th April.
I have chosen these dates as the ferries seem quite cheap this weekend and the Nurburgring is open for 4 Days in a row 0730 - 1930
Travelling Arr...angements:
- Leave sunny Scotland and drive to Newcastle Thursday 5th April 17.00 Ferry
- Arrive Amsterdam 0800 on Friday & drive to the Hotel an der Nordschleife (3.5 - 4 hrs) (Via the Autobahn of course!!!)
- Friday/Sat/Sun - Rape the car's, check out the Ring Werk(visitor center), Museum's, go-karting, Casino's, Pub's, Restaurants, go driving on some stunning local roads.. and just generally chill out at the track and watch some bad ass cars!
- Drive back to Amsterdam for the 1700 Ferry, Monday 9th April
- Arrive Newcasle Tue 0900, drive home.
Prices (based on 4 people going in 2 cars)
Basically, the way it seems to work is, the more people that go, the cheaper it is per person!!??
- Ferry with 4 Bed Cabin = £150 each.
- Hotel for 3 Nights = £120 each
- I did Roughly 1300 Miles last time, so thats about £250 in fuel
- Food, drink, lap tickets, entrance into visitor center etc = £300-400???
Total - Roughly £800-900
(I'm pretty sure I spent just over £800 last time)
Hotel An Der Nordschleife - Hotel
Cheap Ferry Crossings - Ferries to France from Dover to Dunkirk
Im sure some people will be willing to take passengers if others dont want to take cars or if you have mates that fancy coming to share costs.
Who Fancies?"
