    Toyota 86 - the AE-86's 'spiritual successor'

    This is the car:

That is supposedly an 'spiritual update' of this:

Badged as a Toyota 86 and a Subaru BRZ, it comes with the same engine powering the Impreza WRX's.

I think it looks quite nice, but obviously prefer the look of the original Corolla.

It looks so far from the AE86 that it wouldn't surprise me if it's FWD!

No, it's ****ing awesome car. Seriously.

it's light, rwd, nice diff, brilliant throttle adjustability and does 40+mpg! New Subaru flat engine in it with Toyota direct injection. 195PS area, 2.0 NA.

All the serious journos are giving it 5* even though it's not that fast, purely because of the handling. Can't wait. I'm promising myself one next year.

AE86s are massively overpriced, I know a few people who've had them and they're great, and fun, and classics, but so is a lot of other stuff that isn't 6k for a clean one pmsl. They've got a live axle FFS!

I think its a cracking effort. Looks good and sounds like it will be a fun car.

Not too sure about subaru going Rwd though. Hopefully they will keep the 4wd on other models.
