My new astra sri has a slight surge in power.

I know it sounds odd but ive noticed when im pottering along at say 25mph and keep the throttle as steady as possible i turn on my heater the car has a slight surge in power i.e i speed up by a small amount, its no turbo surge but very noticable and i dont know whats weirder.. the fact ive noticed it or the fact that this happens.

Theres prob a simple explanation, no doubt

I think i need to get back to work coz ive got far to much time off over the festive period lol

Only thing I can think of is the car is raising the revs slightly to power the fan and run the alternator more.

If its got Aircon which switches on with your heating then the aircon unit sends a signal to the ECU to increase the revs slightly to compensate for the extra load required by the compressor.
