What are your plans for your car/cars this winter?

As i use mine every day pretty much i cant do much. I know i need to sort my rear shocks out as they are soggy as hell and likewise i have an irritating clonk from my nearside front as well, i suspect over worn poly bushes

Other then that a service is on the cards as the oil service is overdue enough to give Dan a heart attack and its always nice to freshen shizzle up.

    Hows about yourselves?

That sort of experience should only make you stronger...... more so if you required any titanium screws to put you back together.

Re: What are your plans for your car/cars this winter?

I took delivery of a TX Autosport fmic and pipework kit today so I will be doing that Monday with silverest (Richard) and we also plan to remove the helper springs from the front coilovers to go even lower (ran out of adjustment) as if its not low enough.
I'm gonna paint the silver centre consol bits Arden blue and dye the silver part on the steering wheel blue to...er then when I recover from Xmas a VXR afm, bigger injectors and remap..should see 300bhp.

Brave to drive it in the sh*tty weather after doing all your work.

I have a few jobs to do.

Picking up a new turbo so fit that.
    Get the ph2 fitted,
Bit of metal work to di in my boot around the sunroof drain.
Try and get some wheels sorted.
Re trim my rear quarter cards.
    Get cruise fitted.
    Look at Corsa epas maybe.
I'm louder than gods own revolver and twice as shiney.

even tho my nova is painfully close to being mot-able after 2yrs off the road, ive had a change of plans (read as rectifying a few bodges) and give my xe a freshen up as its not been run in approx 13 months and hopefully have it ready for april time, then ill need to shift my disastra to buy something more modern and comfortable but has some decent power and torque

Re: What are your plans for your car/cars this winter?

well the scooby has had brakes all round today and is having a clutch tomorrow.

astra seems to be hanging around a bit longer yet from the looks of things, so cage and new seats maybe and general faffing. might be brave and do a track day at llandow next weekend an see what problems show up.

Mk4; just drive it. It seems to perform well in snow. The other three; weld, paint, repeat.

Re: What are your plans for your car/cars this winter?

corsa: just had a service and new tyres, use as a daily till the weather improves/ive saved some money and then sell it for a Bora Tdi with a towbar.

Nova: First car to move to Aberdeen, repaint wings and bonnet, refurb wheels, sort clutch pedal bracket, service and advertise for sale.

Jago: Over Christmas try to get engine running, prop made and bonnet fitted, move to Aberdeen after the nova, run all fluid lines, assemble interior, make new soft top...............

Locost: Over Christmas I want to try the engine and box in place and get the basic chassis as finished as possible. It will stay at my folks for now, allowing me to jig up wishbones and make grp bodywork in Aberdeen. Once at the rolling chassis stage it will go onto a trailer and up to Aberdeen to be finished.

Other projects: I have a small 1908 drummond lathe which I am refurbishing. Im due to get the headstock back in early december and then ill need to make a cabinet, mount the lathe and associated belt, motor etc and my small 3ph converter. My speedboat is, as ever sitting outside and needs some grp work doing and an engine and drivetrain. Hatched a plan to use a v6 and fwd box as a cheap V-drive conversion but time will tell!

Finally, Ive left my job in Glasgow and sold my flat (moved out this weekend) so need to find a new house (with garage) in Aberdeen, start work in January.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming... "f*ck, what a trip!"
