Re: What are your plans for your car/cars this winter?

might underseal the gsi again and keep in garage, buy a cheap run a round. buy a let in a few months.

or keep using the gsi and get a let quicker.

    desisions..

astra = refit the engine after some work, build manifold, fit holset turbo, tidy the bodywork, and buy some new road legal slick tyres for the summer

corsa = tidy up remove engine and fit a bigger one

saab estate = just drive it and dont do anything

bmw e30 estate = have fun in the snow, sideways

Enjoying the estate, will be raising the suspension up soon with softer springs so they car might have a chance of not being a snow plough. Am looking at a donor car in a few weeks to replace the estate's 3.0 engine which seems to cost a lot of money and not give me the power I want lol

    Transit / 2.0 Nova

Re: What are your plans for your car/cars this winter?

Move the Nova down to the unit.

Fit the 4 pots i bought ages ago,
Fit the MO's and 888's i bought ages ago,
Fit and set up the twin 45's i bought ages ago
Fit the tony law manifold i bought ages ago
And make a new 2.5" exhaust.

Although in reality will probably throw a sheet over it and track it next year exactly as it is.....

    Cavs, Monaro CV8

Re: What are your plans for your car/cars this winter?

    hmmm, not a lot. lol.

Cav - keep roaring to work in it, have just put the turbo winter wheels back on it with the slightly more treaded tyres, let it clock up some more miles, the dirty bitch.

Monaro - fit the rest of the AP brake kit when it arrives, bed them in, find a spare VX or BMW wheel over them as the puny spare wont fit no more, wash and polish it a fair bit, maybe yet more underseal and cavity wax, take it out on occasion when the weather permits. Also needs a tad more paint correction for scratches and marks I can still see.

Esprit - currently sorned and is a stationary very sexy expensive shelf for an AP brake kit and some monaro related junk. Have a raft of things to attend to including fitting and setting up a set of coilover dampers/Sport 350 springs, borrow my mates corner weight gauges, sort that out. attend to a crusty brake line, refit all the fuel tank pipes I took apart. Run an ignition switched live to the NSF and swap the chargecooler pump from the back to down the front left. re-plumb the CC lines and descale/refill. test 2 spare ecus i have, maybe swap chips. Feed the leather some more, give it a polish, remake the exhaust and get it ready for some spring action next year.

may well have to refer to this post if I find myself bored in front of the telly in the winter.

    1.3 Chevette L

Re: What are your plans for your car/cars this winter?

Decided to get rid of the Corsa and get a new winter project. Options so far are a mk4 Astra bertone coupe 2.2 as there's one going cheap (probably multiple problems with it though) or a mate is trying to flog me his Chevette - a decent solid 1.3 hatch. Just can't decide which. Leaning towards the Chevette.

Re: What are your plans for your car/cars this winter?

At least im not the only 1 with a lot to do lol got to get the corsa started (no spark) strip it out, tidy up wiring, get it RR'd (running phase3 so hoping for 300bhp) move the battery into the footwell for more bay space, change the 17" alloys to 16" providing they'l fit over my 308's? So got plenty to do but starting early want it ready for pvs!

I'll be continuing to drive my cars as normal .

Would be nice to get the E30 painted but I doubt that'll happen now.

Jago: Over Christmas try to get engine running, prop made and bonnet fitted, move to Aberdeen after the nova, run all fluid lines, assemble interior, make new soft top...............

Locost: Over Christmas I want to try the engine and box in place and get the basic chassis as finished as possible. It will stay at my folks for now, allowing me to jig up wishbones and make grp bodywork in Aberdeen. Once at the rolling chassis stage it will go onto a trailer and up to Aberdeen to be finished.

Other projects: I have a small 1908 drummond lathe which I am refurbishing. Im due to get the headstock back in early december and then ill need to make a cabinet, mount the lathe and associated belt, motor etc and my small 3ph converter. My speedboat is, as ever sitting outside and needs some grp work doing and an engine and drivetrain. Hatched a plan to use a v6 and fwd box as a cheap V-drive conversion but time will tell!

Finally, Ive left my job in Glasgow and sold my flat (moved out this weekend) so need to find a new house (with garage) in Aberdeen, start work in January.
Jesus! That's quite a list Alistair.

You moving up here to work in the Oil + Gas sector?

I'm in the process of turboing the VR6, way too slow as it is. Should be sitting nicely between 350 and 400bhp in a couple of months as long as my wages stay to plan
