:bangAt the back end of last year we had got the car up to 604bhp and 490ish lbft..
I was happy with the power but wanted to try go for more as i do lol. I sold the gt35 and got a bigger onewe got the car onto 620bhp but the turbo spooled much later then the old one so i was worried about it dropping off boost between gears..
we went to the fast show to the 1st meeting of the esc.. the car was running good so i thought the last run of the day it lifted the head and cracked the block..
while i was sorting another engine out i sent the car to forgemotorsport for a intercooler, rad,oil catch tank and a header bottle.. and what a job they did for meRS Tuning's 700 BHP + 2wd Vauxhall Tigra | Facebook
so i got another block done with new pistons and rods etc this time we had some cams specced for my needs we mapped the car and it made 704bhp but then the car started running crap... we did a compression test and it was down on compression
so i pulled the head off and not ont exhaust valve was seatin right so we tried to reseat the valves but the valve seats had moved in the head :bang we worked the head had gone soft....
so i got another head put on and we was ready for pvs... can anything go wrong for meoh yes it dropped a valve and killed everything ace ..
at this point i was ready for giving inluckly my boss said he would pay for another engine
we got custom done piston to our spec carillo rods... acl bearings from pec thanks Dave
yet another head we had ported an polished bigger valves ect.. we had a gtx35 at work so we put that on for now as mine was deadonce the car was back up and running it was time for totb oh dear the car had done 650 on the gtx happy days ..
totb didnt go to plan too the car was running hot and went down on compression again.. the head had got freashly done was scrap as this one did same has the other pushed the valve seats up into the head :grr
so i sent another head for doing got that back fitted it mapped it again and the block was cracked too.. the car ran fine on 4 and everything but when the car got up to temp and u turnned it off for 10min or so when u started it up again it was on 3 but cleared....
So i was off again yet another block to get machined.. trip to cambrigde with the block and bits drop them off with gaz'd...
once the block was done i put it together got it in the car it did a good few miles init on the road that was fun to say the least in the rain lol..
with the car all happy .time for the dynowe had done a fair bit on the mapping car was doing well 691bhp 550ibft turnned up the boost alittle more oh dear
so that was the end of 4 gear lol. out wi the gearbox and in with another one and this is what we ended up with
