Vectra Supertouring/GSi buying advice
Main points
Rust on rear arches on some
Knocking from Anti roll bar links on front
Worn rear bushes
ECU failure was very common on the 1.8 16v X18xe1 engine, from say T reg to 2002.
Apart from that, the other thread I have linked you to will make some good reading

Nice one for that Paul quite helpful - appreciate it a lot mate.
Do you know if they are much trouble the veccys? Need a car thats reliable and doesn't break much - but might aswell be looking into a black hole.. haven't got a clue me : D
Best advice ever then is to take someone with you who does.
What are are you from?
I repair cars all day, most cause trouble!

Blocked cats are quite a common problem and also the electronic throttle body is a usual fault too. Electronic ICV's tend to get stuck out too but other than that and what Paul has mentioned, you'd be very unlucky to get a bad 1! Good luck mate

Ideally get at least a 1.8. my mate had a 1.6 & its a big car (1400kg) for a small engine. I don't think the insurance is a big difference either. Just a thoughti had 1 & i loved mine, so much iv got another 1
