I'm aware I'll need to replace a chip then they should be re-mappable, heard this a while back now. Just wondered what the score was. I don't mind paying for the software as long as it does the job well.

its the same as the bmw system you need to buy the blank eproms, program them via a board

Cheers Nige, any specific model numbers for the chips? Would I need a spare ecu board to do the write? Or can I go straight into the diagnostics port after the chip replacement? Cheers

The Saab ecu uses an EPROM not a ROM chip, and it has the hardware built into it to allow it to rewrite that chip.
    The c20let ecu doesnt.

The only way to tune a c20let is to physically replace the chip with another one.

In order to remap it "live" you need an emulator.

There are some generic bits of software that would work, but you'd be on your own trying to find the ignition tables and such like unless you can find someone who has done it and is willing to share, you wont find anything even vaguely like t5suite to do it all for you realistically.

Ok mate thankyou for the help, it's the c18xe ecu I'm wanting to re-map but it's looking like its going to be more hassle than its worth! I'm pretty useless with the ecu side of tuning but im keen to learn and a quick learner too. Not fussed with live-mapping but I'd like to know more about the chip replacement/programming side of things if you could supply any further info that would be good!
