    Astra Coupe Turbo/888

What are these like to run day to day? Fancy something newer and been driving my girlfriends 2.2 auto Coupe occasionally and like the way it drives (...even with the auto box) but think it needs to be a bit quicker hence going for the Z'LET

Love the look of the 888 just not keen on the spoiler...also toyed with the idea of fitting the kit to a normal turbo but with the price of everything, even second hand, might as well buy a genuine one to start with.

Good cars or ones to avoid?

    Guess not.

    Anyway, I like em.

Had a 2 myself. Tax is probably expensive now, and guess insurance isn't cheap.

At least there are a good selection of parts about.

Turbos fail, and the one I had needed a set of valve stem oil seals.

£45 a year dearer for road tax than my Mk3 GSi and shouldn't be too much more on insurance than I'm paying now. Not fussed about the mechanical side, got to be easier upkeep than a 20 year old Astra GTE as a daily driver

True but they seem to rust less than 10-13 year old mk2's did. Besides I'll still have the GTE waste money on

Most 888 drivers seats have had it and replacing them is near impossible.

Thought i had found one in a breakers yard today, But unfortunately it was a customer who had parked in the wrong place.

    Much disapointed

Noticed the seats on the 888's, just about all of them seem to have some wear on them. There's one on Autotrader and the drivers seat is fooked...still asking £4000 for it tho
