Surely you are only pulling it one way though? ie. you are pulling it along its length.

This sort of **** should really be clamped down on. Only one of two things will come out of that eBay listing: Someone will steal (and ring) a genuine Mexico or somewith a 1.3 will suddenly have a 'genuine' Mexico because they've bought an identity, and precious little else.

What the seller has done here (in my humble opinion) is get round eBay's 'no documents only' rule by offering a crap bit of a shell with the log book. If you read the Q&As on the listing the seller even admits there are no tags with the shell.
There's only one Andy Morrell, only one Andy Morrell. With a packet of sweets and a cheeky smile, Morell is a paedophile.

Ah, I had a feeling that is what it was for. VERY VERY naughty. I feel for the buyer down the line!

Not sure if you can really make out the chassis number in the picture of the V5 he posted but if you can and then report it to the DVLA they will put a mark against it so it gets an ID check when he applies for a tax disc.

The chassis numbers not greatly visible but the keeper details are, sure the DVLA can get the cars details that way.
Couldn't think of anything good to put in here.

True, infact you could probably just point them towards the auction and they would do the rest....

It's not illegal to reshell and transfer the ID if you use a brand new unregistered replacement shell. I'll let someone else calculate the odds of finding one though, my calculator doesn't have that many digits.

Its not illegal to sell a car in that condition either. Yes we all know what the buyer is most likely going to do with it but its them who are doing the illegal bit

Be that as it may the intent here is pretty obvious.

The intent as per any auction is to sell something he has for the most money he can, and doesnt care what it is used for surely?

They'd have a hard job proving this on a MK1 Escort shell given the chassis number isn't stamped into the shell like we are used to these days. Just a set of tags and with a log book you can get a replacement set of tags..............................On a car that age there is nothing to stop a re-shell.
