Dating Letter needed to register my vectra with DVLA ANY HELP???

hi guys, having a few issues registering my vectra with DVLA.


DVLA have informed me that i now need a letter to confirm the age of my vectra before they will register it.

They have stated i need either a Headed letter from Vauxhall itself or from a Owners Club.

I have spoken to Jonathon bell at vauxhall luton (he's the man that sorts the certificates of conformity and dating letters) unfortunately he cannot issue me a dating letter as he says his systems only shows details for cars 10yrs or newer.

So looks like i need a Owners Club to sort out a letter

its a 1997 vectra v6.

i have a printed out page from my vauxhall dealer, after in putting the VIN into EPC it shows the vehicles info, age ect. DVLA wont accept this as evidence even though it proves the cars age.

Anyone have any ideas or able to help?

yes it is, ive re-built a fair percentage of the car and up to MOT standards. its MOt'd now but need some form of age verification as id rather an age related plate than a Q plate

Sort of figured that by the questions .

Few of my mates had Q plates back in the day , don't think they Q plate things as quickly now , they think of trying to age relate .

No Paul , I think it's a shell that has only been used on track and he wants to use it on the road .

Anyway, cannot see the DVLA listening to a 'Vauxhall club', if Vauxhall themselfs cannot help.

as above, its a ex vectra challenge race car,

the vauxhall EPC decodes the VIN number and shows the production date as 1996 but the age code of the VIN itself is V for 1997.

DVLA say headed letterfrom vauxhall or an Owners Club...

thats cool, not sure exactly what they want tbh, it may have to be from an owners club which DVLA have previously approved.

was hoping someone had gone through a similar process and that they could explain what they had to do
