There's one in Queensferry breakers yard and he's totally soft when it's open. Not sure what he's like when it's shut though - he has a carpetted house/bed and everything.

My mam laughed when I told her I was building a car outta spaghetti.. Should of seen her face when I drove pasta!
Best place for it.

how did you come up with this idea?? its a very good one might ad it to my work load if you dont mind you are quite a way from me so wont be stepping on your toes haha
Desirable models are just something im interested in. Noticed there was a market for hard to find parts and went from there, advertising them on worldwide forums and via ebay.

Bet that still had another 100k left in it!
Think you'll find yourself on your own there.
The era of the 190 was Mercedes at it's best; I have owned a lot of cars, and the quality of 80s/early 90s Merc is outstanding. They are uber reliable, and when you do have to repair them, so much consideration has gone into the mechanic working on it that it's a almost a pleasure. And the driving experience also can't be beat. In fact, I am so impressed I will probably stick with Mercedes forever more.
There are many W201 W123/4 Merc taxis around the world with over 1 million miles on the clock.
Was going to say used as taxis a lot.
Shame that in later years they have not been as good.
Rust and more rust.
We need more enthusiasts getting in there first at scrappies. It's not just getting bits cheap, it's about preserving the rare bits. Like that LXi Astra estate, I bet too many scrapyard employees still see them just as old Astras. Finding bits for them is a nightmare.
They're there, in their room.
I think that LXi front end would look nice on your mk2 Dan!

Mayby a bit rude of me to claim best place for it. I know full well how good they are, and due to the build quality even spent nearly an hour this week stripping this lot out of a w124. A job which would take 10 mins in a newer model. This lot was meticulously bolted on and had to disassemble half the car to get it out. (sells well in hot countrys)
The truth is though that unless someone is passionate about them they will continue to be thrown away.
Went down south somerset way today and found this lot. K reg mk2 conv with only 74k
Very well kept base model. Cant remember the milage but even had a full service history
Mk1 cavalier 2 door "I think". (didnt stick around too long as there was a nasty dog following me)
This 1.4SR has been there ages, Only just got round to photographing it.
Then found this.... Wouldnt normally take a photo of most calibra's.... but this one has a mig sticker so it made it into the thread
Anybody wanting to know the wherabouts of any vehicles in the thread can Pm me.
craig re ignition barrel and key, yes it is an adjustable coloum on my mk2
mk3 gsi c20let BADGER spec build, http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/proje...dger-spec.html
yea sorry. The 4 mk2's i found this week were keyless. Found a daewoo nexia but they seem to have more of a mk3 ignition. Il keep looking and as long as i find one without a matching lockset its yours.
mk3 gsi c20let BADGER spec build, http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/proje...dger-spec.html
Mk1 cavalier 2 door, if it is a 2 door it will be worth good money to be turned into a 2 door ascona
I forgot to say dan that a while back i removed some immaculate mk2 astra headlights in harris's's. I didnt have my wallet with me so hid them in the stock room. If you think you might want them Pm me and i'l tell you where they are, as ive since scrapped my mk2's
Definately 2 door chap. Just wasnt sure if it was a cavalier or not as the badge is gone and its a bit before my era.
Some great finds! love a good rake at the scrappies haha
Not sure if this is any good to you, but I was in Bridges, Pease Pottage (Crawley) last weekend, and there was a W124 with full black leather interior in good nick. Far too good too be crushed as usual. I would have had it myself but would never have got it in the car (and couldn't be bothered).
