Good for you mate a year in and still going well cant be bad.
I did notice on a pic earlier the calibra on that, well looks like a stately home with borders of old motors etc. Anyway i'm after a plastic fuel tank for my Astra 4x4 project I know that there on the cavalier 4x4s I wasn't sure if the tank I could see in the pic was a plastic one?
Anyway on your travels if you see a cavalier tank please let me know. Straps and brackets would be a bonus.
I have no idea if it will even fit.

    Cheers Chris

The Calibra one for definite will fit, as that's what I'll be using. I've measured them and there's room behind the rear diff. (although the difference being mines a mk3 Astra GSi)

Rear head rest guides are the ones to use in Nova/mk2 Astra/Corsas always worth getting..

Good call there Benn. Wonder if that's a run out model with higher than usual spec.

Re: The "What i find in scrapyards" thread

Long day today around east somerset and south wiltshire. Took quite a few pics so here goes....

First off was another leather interior for the mk4 golf... Pics of the interior, or car not important, but made a nice find in the armrest

Then a poverty 1.2 C with a nice Irmscher spoiler. (actually got 2 today but forgot to take a picture of the first)

This mk2 has been there for years, But never posted it so thought i might aswell. It is mega clean, everywhere (i had the doors last year)

Then this Blob eye STi, (not bug eye). Looks like a sickening crash, but to be fair the passenger compartment was pretty intact.

It had a hugely expensive Perrin performance hardpipe kit, complete with perrin catch tanks, but unfortunately it was all knackered

No high level spoiler either which was a shame, They are a 300 earner

This made me laugh.... Look at the plate

Took some bits off this, then noticed the spoiler.

Had to laugh when i saw the ally pile by the office. I always throw the vectra v6 plenums on it after removing the bits i want.... Must have had a fair few sets of rockers recently.

Genuine mk1 GTi, Not a lot worth having off it really though, its in quite a bad way

Shame though as this 3dr driver was just a stones throw away in the same yard. Could have been a nice oportunity for a re-shell

Well, Thats what happened today. Im taking the rest of the week off now so will update the thread with new pics mid next week-ish

Thanks... I like looking back through it too

With regards tot he Corsa C's, I know its shocking. They dont seem to rust, but are for some reason disposable. Unless they are smashed the interiors and bodywork is normally tidy too.

I came across an opel Corsa C today, I wanted the complete opel kit off it, but they wouldn't let the centre caps go without the wheels.

4 pots front brakes and two pot rears on the scooby would be worth a punt id have thought craig. as for corsa c's after owning one, i can understand why they are in being binned, horible little cars and them 3cylinder engines (and even1.2's) are crap!

Re: The "What i find in scrapyards" thread

Yeah i noticed the 4 pots, but they tend to only make around 100 for the fronts, sometimes 250 for a full set of 4. Also, the yard i was in would have probably priced them using ebay anyway which is annoying and wouldnt have made it viable.

I know they payed a lot for it too...

Oh and in my opinon 1.2 corsa's are ok. My Amy has one, and after driving the van all day it feels rapid!

Because the engines are gash and probably cost more to repair than the car is worth, I find that is usually the case.

we recently sold the 4 pots and rear 2 posts off our subaru rally car (up graded to brembos) and got 400 ircc so we must have had a right good shout on that!

as for corsa V's transit, id choose the transit every time, but saying that i do have a 140bhp 6speed transit at work

Thats a really good price. A set did just sell on ebay today for 330, but its a real lottery, and given what i would have had to pay for them wasnt worth the gamble. Might still call them tomorrow and see if i can get the lot for 125, but i doubt it.

Oooh Nice. 140 transit, Mine is not quite as powerful. Hit a phesant in it today at 70ish smashing the front bumper too.

Took a drive out to follow this up today. Its only about a 40m drive so was worth it for the amount of bits that were still available

Shame really, had done 110k, and was completely standard.

Glad mine is stitch welded here too!

Im keeping some bits for myself, but the rest will be in the for sale section this evening

Then waited to get this lifted down. It was a 1.4 petrol with decent final drive.

I spent an hour or so dropping the box to get the cluster out, but time was pressing on and it was hot so decided to leave it for another day.

So much for taking time off... Went back up there early this morning to finish off the combo

It was indeed 4.53. Got the CWP for 10 so i think il keep hold of this one.

The guys in the yard thought i was mental. But if only they knew.
