My mam laughed when I told her I was building a car outta spaghetti.. Should of seen her face when I drove pasta!
Yeah the vectra was a good earner, I dont tend to post too much here what i buy and what i sell it for, but those who are a little closer to me will already know.
The trouble with these Xe's is that they are more of a labour of love. They dont make financial sence, by the time its been taken out cleanly, checked over, stored and sold as a possibly running engine there will be very little profit.
Breaking them kind of makes sence, but its a maximum £300 profit for what is a lot of work
At the risk of sounding arrogant, In this game there are easier ways of making £300.....
Hey guys any of you.spotted.any.mk1 nova saloons or.ever hatchs recently need some bits
Blackborough hall is so bizarre. I don't live far from it and popped over there once last year. Was quite surprised he let me in as I'm only 21, but sure enough he let me have a browse of some of the corsas. I didn't find anything I wanted, that modded arden certainly wasn't there at the time.
The only other scrappies in that area I go to are the one in Willand and the one on the outskirts of Bridgwater just off the M5.
White horse breakers are good, I think Kirtons are still open, and woodford breakers are good too. But a little further south than blackborough
Blackborough House is mental. Last went about 8 years ago and from your pictures they have had an almighty clear out already.

Im going down to kent for the weekend 24th march (Rallycross)
Might go a day early and run around there too so there may well also be a "kent edition"
go there my self its ok at times but never really get much in coz good stuff gets auctioned
place in malton porkies think they call in
place in melbourne in your a massive field thye get old stuff in he also has lots and lots of classic parts in some huts old lights and stuff the guard dog is a bull yes u gt that a bull and beleive me its huge lol
We've got a U Pull It up here too. Can be a goldmine or hopeless. They do barrow weekends, used to be £25 and you could stack it to the moon but now it's £50 and your haul has to fit through a small set of goalposts. Still, can lead to some bargains but as always it depends on what's in at the time and how many Poles have been there by the time you arrive.
Cavalier Turbo Owners Club - As long as it runs I really dont care...

Such a cool thread...love it!!
Anyone know of good ones in the Leamington/Coventry area?
Won't be any as cool as Blackborough I know, but since being at Uni I haven't bothered to find any good ones up here.
1 in malton is on the big industrial estate if you coing fron yourk way come to the second set of lights on the ihigh street turn left go down a road with loads speedbumpers then first left into the big industrial estate right to bottom turn right and its there on your left its only a small place but he gets a good few old vauxhalls in there
craig i wouldnt travle far to go u pull it like u gotta get very lucky to find something worth having i mean im into my v dubs and vauxhalls my mates has loads fords and my dad n bro are into bms so we luk at good choice of different stuff and never really get a massive asmount of bargains just usually daft little bits as spares for out own cars
althought couple weeks ago i was in there had a valver lump full conversion out of a corsa for £350 plus vat which i thought was a bargain had 4 branch as well
Thanks, But to be honest most of the parts i sell are off of everyday cars. Stuff that breaks and costs a fortune at a dealer.
I still do keep a finger in the VW and BMW E30 / E36 Pie though, and if you know what to look for its always there.
A fair few of you have dealt with me on ebay without knowing it![]()

What, no MIG sticker Craig?
They're there, in their room.
sorry.
Im not a fan of stickers. The quaife one is only there as its covering a scratch![]()
As much as it all looks like fun and games its not always. I have to agree i wouldnt want to do anything else, But jobs like this are soul destroying.
I took a trip out yesterday morning. The yard was pretty fruitless, so just to make the best of a bad situation decided to take the metal cam covers off this.
Fork lift drivers dont work saturdays, and the bonnet would only open this far. Bearing in mind two of the rear exhaust manifold studs need to be removed it was a pig of a job.
Managed it though. (a bit easier when its not your car)
2DD - Turbodave will understand...... And this KILLS. it bled like mad.

Not Updated this for a while as the phone i take the pictures on was Fubar'd. Got it sorted now though so the updates should start rolling in more frequent
Found this on monday, Shame really but there was plenty to salvage from ther wreckage....
Then quite randomly found this SRi in a different yard just a few hours after
Couldnt help but take a pic of this. LOOK HOW SMALL THE ENGINE IS !
This was amazing..... Thats all i have to say about it.
Then this 90spec 16v. I was tempted to buy it with a mate for a track car we could abuse, but it wouldnt have been a good idea so left it.
And this, Which was sitting in a yard closer to home... Not a lot worth having off it though as its just a poor replica
And finally this, Which is not in any way a poor replica! Although its technically not in a scrapyard it still kind of counts and the photo still made its way in as i drove past it on my way to a yard.
Spoke to the bloke who owns it and he wants a few quid for it, But it is genuine 1 owner (+ company) with just 58k and FSH.
