finally managed to tax the astra as a 2.0. 16v what a ball ache!

after around 15 phone calls to swansea (who talk a completley different language) and getting told 15 differtent lists of things i needed to do to get the car taxed as a 2.0 instead of the dreary 1.4 it used to be , i went into my local dvla office today (even they wernt sure) but after a bit of debate they agreed to tax my car using the paperwork i provided......
this has been ongoing for around 2 months and have still been informed that they might not issue a log book........? WTF....
now i could understand if i was changing it from 2.0 to 1.4 because there could be reason to susspect tax cheating but im obviously paying double now and had a letter/engineers report stating reg and engine numbers so i cant see the problem, the woman at the dvla even said there are a 100 reasons why they might not issue a log book 1 been that the car is a g reg and they dont like old cars......again WTF.... it sailed through its mot with no advisories and i dare say it is more mechanicalls sound that some of the 5 yr old sheds on the roads today.......

    RANT OVER
    SORRY!lmao

Lmao! well at least its not as hard as the "TUV" set up in germany you arnt aloud to do anything, approved mods and upgrades adds value to the car because its so hard to get approved. Another 10 years here will be the same given the governments hatred for old cars and mods.

What really burns my nuts is that governments and the 'Save the everything from the Spermwhale to the Boll Weevil' brigade bang on about ecology, re-cycling and saving the planet and then give us a hard time when we prolong the life of vehicles. Albeit those vehicles might be modified and burn more fuel than they were originally designed to do but in the long run they are causing less pollution than the production of a new car to replace them.
Re-cycle your washing up bottles and your cat food tins and they smuggly tell us how much we are helping save the planet (forgetting the fact of the gallons of water used to wash them out before they can be put in your wheelie bin) - but keep an older vehicle going and you become a Satan's Turd Eater.

DVLA are like zombies, confused, undecided, unable to think straight, come up with a right decision, lacking common sense altogether, they just follow some outdated rules even that they find hard to cope with.

They wanted to charge me £25.00 for a duplicate reg doccument, but i found a way around it and got the latest red one for free, thats because they have no logic!
