the season is shaping up nicely, lots of potential gp winners this year, and with the new points system, should be a great fight, Alonso for the title for me, closely followed by schuey and vettel, really hard to make any predictions though as testing pace meant even less this year

I too cant wait. Would have to agree (annoyingly lmao) about Alonso. He will be quick i think. Although i would like to think that the Mercs and McMercs will be in there. What i find interesting, is during testing we have no idea of what fuel loads teams are running. So the times posted dont really mean alot. Or have i missed something lmao

..remembered last night - only raikonnen is missing lol

if u exclude finnish drivers - it might go back to near mid 90's..

hmm, when they had decent cars maybe, the current heavy underpowered saloons are a bit of a let down tbh, some decent racing, but nowhere near as good as it was in the super touring days, and less technical innovations too

i think that just reinforces schueys dominance during that period, will be very interesting to see him back in the mix, especially if the car is any good...

Bring it on - looking forward to a great season this year. The wife and I are heading to Monza this year to watch the GP but not sure where my loyalies lie now. Schumacher is who I've always supported and Ferrari I kind of adopted. I'm hoping both do well this year.

Here's an amusing clip of the McLaren guys snooping around the Ferrari garage trying to pick up some ideas.

    Re: F1 2010 season chat

Not a fan of either but I think it will be a comfortable stroll for Alonso & Ferrari this season. If the pit crew can perform, lol.

I'll be at the Melbourne GP on the 28th if anyone feels like meeting for a beer or two.

Lotus' performance during pre-season practice looks bloody awful! Something like 5 seconds off Hamilton's pace.

I see Sir Stirling Moss has broken both his ankles falling down a liftshaft.
I guess a comeback from him is out of the question then

what did you expect neil? i still think they will end up best of the new boys, but they should reintroduce the 107% qualifying rule ASAP!!!

I agree. IMHO the FIA bottled it by not letting Prodrive join, I believe they would have been better prepared than most of the new teams. However they would have been no where near the established teams, they would IMHO have been closer than the current new teams.

    Re: F1 2010 season chat

i guess they will just say its incompatible with the three stage quail system, but as a few drivers have mentioned, having cars that slow tooling around could be dangerous, or just ruin a few peoples hot laps...

I just struggle to get my head around any team turning up to the grid 5 seconds off the pace in modern F1. I agree - the 107% rule sounds sensible.

no testing and few reference points i guess, what with al the reg changes as well it makes it even harder to find pace and reliability out the box, and with todays sponsor pressure, finishing races means more to small teams than anything else, so they choose reliability over out and out pace...at least they did better than USF1 lmao

    Re: F1 2010 season chat

Im in Paris working at the moment, had the afternoon free yesterday and managed to find the FIA offices in the Place de Concorde. Shame I missed Max by 6 months, a night in the Bastille would have been worth it to punch that nazi loving **** sucker!!!

Not making predictions myself. Hopefully McLaren will be there of there abouts but tbh, just want a good season with no politics, good races and a good close title fight.

    Im dreaming, arent I?! lmao

I think Alonso will do it personally. Wrapped up before the end of the season as well, probably forcing another schumacheresk revival of Ferrari domination for a number of seasons.
