Hello guys just would like a little advice went to look at a 2000 mk4 coupe turbo today
Really did fall in love with it lol looked lovely but didnt buy for the following reason
The front wings to me looked a slight different colour to the doors only slight but i noticed it??
And the bonnet lines were massive it had bonnet raisers on there and i you could see them through the gaps im pritty sure this is not normal???
It was hpi clear but i kept thinking accident??
It drove nice etc but i said to the guy i would have a think about it i did go there to buy took the money etc have i made the right decision not buying???
Re: Calling all coupe owners went to view one today?
what colour was it? if it was one of the gold ones, every panal looks a different colour in the sun. and bonnet lifters fitted badly will push the bonnet up causing bad gaps.
Re: Calling all coupe owners went to view one today?
it does look like it might have had a bt of paint on the front. how does it drive? any signs on the chassis legs that its been jigged / bashed straight?
accident damaged cars are nothing to be scared of if they have been repaired correctly and can be a bargin if priced right
something definatly not right with the wings, the passenger one looks like a pattern part and doesnt fit properly. Also if its a turbo then it has possibly had a new bumper as the splitter on the turbos had holes for the brake ducts. The bonnet lifters can be seen through the bonnet gap on mine too, tbh they are not the best fit. if they are fitted upside down they also push the panel gap wider.
If it were me id walk away from that one tbh.
As per Fow, the front spoiler is not right. However coupes bumpers are known for popping of at the sides. Oh and the bonnet lifters do that. I'm thinking of removing mine because of it!
hmm seems very cheap to me, too cheap to be a decent one and I think you have found out why. Who knows what's going on underneath.
I'm selling my coupe, but asking for a lot more than that, however, its mint with no dodgy shut lines etc.
