resulting from the success of my "what was your first car" thread i came up with this one
the best car youve ever owned, the most missed? want to see some more pics
this why my shonky old bag of crap
my 1996 astra mk3 van (GM 1.7 TD) cav alloys, a welded bar for a gear stick, a leaky injector so it took about half an hour to start every morning, but it was great.
sorry bout the picture quality
had some good times in that van , and some bad , especially when the timing belt snapped.
so i refitted new timing belt, replaced head gasket, replaced the broken rockers, then about a month later the water pump and cast coolant pipe gave up on me, so i gave up on it due to no more funds to repair it (i should have dropped an isuzu engine in it :doh
I had an A reg Vauxhall Carlton 1.8l I bought at auction for £600, it ran and ran and ran. Barely cost me a penny the whole time I had it and didn't it put up with some thrash You could have some sideways fun too if it was wet or snowy but you had to watch it as it didn't come back inline smooothly! I've had loads of cars that have been good to me but that one is still up there with the best of them
Best car at the time :
Sierra Sapphire 2000E , 70k miles , never went wrong , AZEV A alloys . cops kept asking how I could afford the car ( they thought it was a Cossie )
The best car i had was undoubtedly my S4, completly understated,
2.7 twin turbo, 4wd - 170mph +
was 3 years old when i bought it - regret selling it everyday - but couldnt justify having the money tied up in a car when i needed a deposit for a house
My mk2 1.3. I've just done a 475 mile round trip to Plymouth in it. Just another successful journey in the 100k miles and 11 years I've owned it. It's never failed to finish a drive it's started out on.
my evo2 really do miss this car, was super clean, big bang for your buck,
press go pedal then grin as warp factor nine kicks in : sideways in the twistys:
By far the best car and Vauxhall I ever owned. Before I fettled with it....
After I fettled with it.....
Switched it to DBilas throttle bodies, FK Coilovers and boy did she go. Skinned CTR's for fun, couple of Scooby's and an Evo and really miss the 9k rev limit lol
Regrettably sold it for a family car and now its kicking ass in the Toyo Tyre Chamionship
My absolute best had to be myVeccy GSi which I had until recently then sold it to get my GTE (Im on the look out for a vec SRi now to run alongside the GTE)
My GSi
Closely follwoed by my 430bhp 7MGTE Auto MKiii Supra, this thing was a complete animal and great fun to drive
then of course my favourite of all my GTE's, I REALLY miss this car but alas its tin cans now (would love to know who has the sideskirts off it now)
