    Anyone used Mr Clutch?

My 2.6 needs a clutch and slave and Mr Clutch are cheaper then the rest by quite a margin.

    Anyone used 'em.....good? bad?

I had a gearbox replaced not long after buying my old RS Turbo under warrenty, and after about a week my box nearly fell out i.e it only had one loose bolt holding it on
But I think it all depends on the fitter.

    Re: Anyone used Mr Clutch?

one of my mates brough a saxo and it had a clutch put in at mr clutch 3 weeks before he got it and was still under waranty when it went, they wouldnt replace it so i ended up doing it, when i got the clutch out it turned out the clutch was a cheap re manufactured unit, that will be why it didnt last 5 minutes, plus none of the gearbox bolts were tight!!

My sister in law had a clutch done by them on her Renault Megane and they forgot to put gear oil back in. Subsequently her box wasn't too well after driving home like it and then about for two days
Please ensure all events queries are pm'd in my direction. Please be patient and i will get back to you very soon.

Depends where you go. My mate takes his cars to his local one as it works out cheaper them doing it than him. but he knows them well! Oh and he supplies the bits!

I sent my sisters boyfriend to have his done at one I trust. That car has been fine too! I have heard/seen horror stories though

I know of a Lotus Carlton that has been sitting for the last 5 years because of MR. Clutch. Would I take my Cav turbo 4x4 there. Nope I'd rather burn it.

The kwikfit of the clutch world - it might go ok, and then again, it might not.

Oh, and if part way through the job the grease monkey pops into the waiting room and says
"its apart now and your flywheel is quite scored and should really be skimmed. its £30 extra, but Id recommend it for the long life of the new clutch"

you should then say "can I have a look at your lathe?"

He will then say "what lathe?"

You should then say "How the **** are you planning on skimming my flywheel without a lathe you fud?"
