Just looked at a Y reg Vectra 20 Dti hatchback in turquise, FSH, 148k, short t&t (sept) VGC, drives very nicely, will require 2 front tyres soon & the aircon needs re-gassing (hopefully) as i'd like it working. No other faults. He's owned it for 5 years & he bought it off it's original owner.

He'll take £1100, it's up for £1350.

Does this sound reasonable ?

2.0 dti, i dont want to burst any bubbles or anything but these are the engines that have problems...if the pump hasnt been replaced already i would look away

There are places local to me which are repairing these pumps instead of having to find another, not sure yet whether it's ever been replaced though.

i would get something else in that matter i dont like the 2.0 engines, some peoples get lucky with them, some dont

News to me and probably lots of other people too. I'm sure these are sealed units hence their notorious reputation for being expensive when they fail.
Not long got rid of a 1999 Vectra 2.0DTi for about half what the one you have seen is. I have to say it wasn't a bad car at all though was slow and they're not exactly desirable.

pump is expensive you can get uncoded ones from ebay. i would give it a miss

If i get any expensive problems i'll deal with it, i got it for £1050 after some further 'negotiating'. Plenty of service bill reciepts for £300-400 each over the years. Hopefully it'll go fine for a couple of years anyway
