The Old Skool Bug is Catching (No 56k).......

Well as some may know i treated myself to a Uno Turbo Mk1 as it was the first turbo car and first real quick car i owned from passing my test along time ago lmao
At the time when i was 18 and had the uno my mate pete had a renault 5 turbo phs1 with the rest of the lads having fords.
Well ever since i got my uno pete who is now my buisness partner has wanted to get something old. I have had the flu for about 2 weeks now so have popped on and off ebay where i found the old skool classic.
So my mate put a cheeky bid in and we won it, he got it for a really good price. The bloke who was selling the car on ebay really slagged it off saying it was this and that (think he just got pissed off with it in the end) but then it arrived on the back of the truck we was expecting a nail but we was very suppirsed the car isent in bad shape at all no real rust problems nothing. The bloke had the car for 8 years with is being off the road for 4 years where he replaced the engine an couldent get it to run. Withing 5 mins of it being in are unit we found the timing was 180% out swoped everything around an if fired first time lmao

The car is a 1983 Renault 5 gordini turbo with 88,000miles.
As you can see from the photos the engine is a differant way, its mad the gearbox is on the front of the engine.
It has NO intercooler which is how it came from the factory
Fuel input is a carb which feeds the turbo which feed the inlet; its all the wrong way lmao but it works
Car has come with loads of history.

Plans are to total restore the car in the same way i plan on doing the uno
I will let the photos do the talking Enjoy

Some shots the the renaults mad engine setup

The renault has NO exharst tunnel at all as standard to the ran it threw the wing and just under the car lmao

Surely you are only pulling it one way though? ie. you are pulling it along its length.

it aint really the wrong way, its draw through set-up not the 'modern' blow through.

alot of the VW boys use draw through set-ups as like the R5's you can keep winding the boost up!. except they use holley double barrel jobbies!!!

fair do's though, its a pretty kool car, joys of ebay and being illlmao

Interesting setup on the 5 only seen it on the 21 turbos, but the mass of piping if you have an
air leak Another thing the 5's dash looks more moderner and better than the later 5's lol

Uno turbo at 18?? did you steal it? lmao

Dude you go and buy that uno, and i think to myself, this guy is a legend anyway but booom up the stakes now with a Gordini and your on the way to god like status!

You could not have picked a better car, well you could of but it would have to be a Tub 2.

Can't wait to see more on this car.
