Look at this garaged classic I got today

No this isn't masquerading as a for sale advert, just saves me having to reupload the pictures all over again.

This poor old 1974 Passat has been sat in a garage untouched since 2000, genuine mileage, not much rot, cleaned up quite a nice shade of Orange!!

Hoping someone can save the old girl, doesn't deserve to be scrapped, only ever had 1 owner!

Dubbers would go nuts for something like that.

What a rare find a MK1 2dr Passat is now. I think it looks cool, i'd have it slammed on some nice wheels and keep the rest standard.

Crikey I didn`t realise FWD was so common back then, most things of that era were rear drive.

Same weird setup as a Renault 21, engine is longitudinaly mounted, but with driveshafts coming out the side of the gearbox.

They called me up about 2 months ago to remove it, and in a fit of generosity I said straight away without even looking at it, "get it on Ebay, worth far more than scrap value".

They called me back last week and said that they didn't have time to do anything with it, but seeing as i'd been so honest with them, they let me have it, knowing that it ending up as scrap probably wasn't going to happen.

Turned up to tow it away this morning, and lets just say i'm glad i bothered to go pick it up

If you're serious mate (in that you do have one) try

Or Ovalchat, which is a banger forum.

I picked up a V-reg Opel Manta Berlinetta once for free. It was in similar nick to this car, and I sold it on ebay for £700 to an enthusiast. Couldn't believe my luck.

I'm hoping so, not just because it would be nice to have some proper luck for a change, but to know that its saved.

I break and scrap a lot of cars, but i'm not a heartless arse, cars like this I love seeing on the road still.

Now its on www.ukpassats.co.uk and at 52 watchers i'm getting cash offers of £250 for her, so i think it should do well
