Went to a local timed sprint event

Flipping ace so damn close to them, not really for spectators but they allowed us in to watch.

There were about 80 cars running but only few pics took some vid too.

    1.4bar = 356bhp :-)
well different to a trackday but highly addictive,
most ppl think why bother cus the tracks are
short but they are highly technical,
i want to get into the msa series next year,
i ran the cav in a sprint and came fifth fastest
against some proper machinery with 38 competitors,
which was a shock for the huge barge,

just watched the video and recongnise some of the cars i ran against,
but i thought the cars coming round that bend and starting cars off
was lucky none spun thru the tyres and collected the cars just starting

That orange mk1 is local to me, he's a BMW dealer mechanic IIRC. I got a pic of his car a few weeks ago outside the dealership. Fly off hnadbrake & big cage tec etc. Well trick inside.

Looked like a cool event anyhow. Always good to see a Nova in the running..
    it's a C20XE not a fookin Redtop FFS

    Like its stolen
    That orange mk1 looks awesome.

Such a shame there is no real vauxhall equivalent to the mk1 escort in terms of the number and quality of them still used in competition

True, I guess the massive success & following of the RWD Escorts has resulted in masses of parts, knowledge & tuners ready to prep them etc.

The Manta was pretty successfull as a rally car, but seeing as it wasnt a british car like the Escorts were I think it had little development in the UK. Shame.

we were in the Chevette, Car 70 our first ever rally, the pic lee took of the engine bay above of the redtop, we managed pretty well and finished 39 overall, even though ran the last 2 stages in 3rd as we lost the clutch , Was a fantastic day and highly recommended to all
