Thanks Leishy07, I hope so, I might have to drive back a car for a mate who is buying one but he can't drive it back as he has not sorted out his insurance having just passed his driving test, problem is all the companies he has rang they want to know first what car he is buying and what its registeration number is, often things don['t work like that, for example if someone is selling a car 100 miles in the next town, and if we go by train to have a look at the car and if we find the car is ok and pay for the car and we hope to drive back without having to arrange for an insurance from a road side. So if he buys that car, signe the document and the car becomes his on exchanging the money, he can then authorise me to drive it back for him, under my own insurance as a 3rd party cover only, as long as I get his car home for him, he can then try and obtain best quote for it by calling several brokers.
The one thing is the car will have some road tax on it.

No, to use the drive other vehicles extension on your policy the other vehicle must be insured by the owner or registered keeper.

J611PBH is NOT on the Motor Insurance Database today

By allowing someone to drive this vehicle, the driver is at risk of being STOPPED by the police and having their vehicle impounded, and possibly DISPOSED OF, if proof of insurance cannot be provided.

haha astra gsi near me,druggy=no insurance as suspeected

My nova shows as a robin reliant lol.

Had a chat with a police officer about this, and apparently if you tax+insure the car at around the same time you get a corrupt record, and it happens often.

I'd best give flux a ring tonight and get this sorted.

In which case you would be advised to keep all the details of your insurance with you whilst driving, i.e Insurance company, policy number and possibly their phone number. Carrying a certificate with you is pretty meaning less because the insurance could have been cancelled etc. (Pretty sure you know already, whats the harm in me saying it )

How do you report someone? Checked a neighbors car and it not insured and the little tw*t keeps parking so i cant get my van out of the steet without getting up on the other kerb.
Maybe i should just drive into it ?

Good find that site though. If i have to declair all mods and pay £850 a year so should everyone else!

Yes thats right mate, you usually have between 7-14 days to register it so it shows up as insured on the ANPR. Then you just take it off once its sold.

    like its leased
not only that..... many chavs do not have modified car insurance-[if they have normal car insurance
    on their modded cars]

    which is just as bad-
if they kill someone chavs insurance company will say its void as their policy does not cover any modifications and wont pay up....leaving the families of deceased in the lurch.....very sad

the courts would act accordingly with a stiff sentence [what ever that means today]

I think you'll find that the insurance will pay out but would be well within their right to claim back any compensation and costs from the driver who failed to declare their mods.

when the insurance ran out on the astra a few weeks ago (didnt drive it for a few days till payday came and i re-insured it), it took about 24 hours after starting a new policy with a different company before it showed.(i checked when starting the new policy to make sure that it flagged up as insured)
