n e 1 know if its possible for the below scenario

insured full comp on my mk3
want to buy a car and maybe for a for months put a second car (new astra that I'm looking for) on there as well

reason being.

1> I need to drive the new car home and obviosly then need to get my old one home.
2> As I will be selling old car, if I need to test drive or allow test drive, car needs to be insured (within the next few months)
3> Also in case something happens on new car need to get to work on the old one

again just for a few months

Most companies allow you to add cars to your policey for a temporary period, eg, a week to a month, and charge you a bit extra for it.

yup, I had a second car for a while I was doing some work on - whenever I wanted to drive it I just phoned up my insurer and added it for a few days. Depends on the company though.

Checked with my insurance (Endsleigh) they said they do a temporary car insurance for up to 30 days at a time.

Can't quote me till they know which car, but all things should be ok, now,
so just gotta keep an eye out for a car
