Won a Cav on ebay, guy wont sell!!! Furious!!!!

Right, I dont know what to do really, it/he has taken me by suprise.
I had my eye on this listing on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA:IT&ih=002
for a while, rang the guy up and he said he wants £1500 for it really but will haggle.
Anyway today I check the auction and its still quite low, so I thought I would have a bid
and see what happens. In the last 10 secs someone bids but I still win the car.
If you check the bid history it looks like he has been bidding up to find out what peoples
max bids are then cancelling them, IMO.
Anyway, I ring the guy to discuss collection and so on, here is the convo.

ME, "Hi mate, I've just won your Cavalier on Ebay".
Him, "No you havnt mate".
ME, "Yes I did mate, I'm the winning bidder".
Him, "Not at that price you havnt".
ME, "But I bidded the highest, its a legal auction which I have won".
Him, "I dont care what it is, you aint having it at that price, it sais in the discription I wont take less then £1500 for it".
ME, "It sais you paid £1500 for it and dont want silly offers, but I won it at £800".
Him. "I dont give a stuff, report me or do whatever you like, I'm not bothered".

And then he hung up on me immediatly after he finished that last sentence.
What do I do, I cant believe the guy, you take a risk when using ebay, many prosper but you sometimes lose, thats a auction.
If I leave neg feedback he may do the same to me, it doesnt look like he uses ebay alot so it will most likely not
bother him at all if he gets neg feedback or whatever.



Its just pee'd me right off.

It is a legally binding auction.
If he wanted a guaranted amount,thats what a reserve price is for....

If you won it for £800, then he should sell it to you at that price.
But what can you do.

Tell them the seller is refusing to honour the auction

Walk away - if he is made to honour the auction then he'll probably sabotage/rag the car even more than it has.

To be honest with you it looks more of a munter than a minter and he sounds a right chav looking through the description. There are lots of little niggle bits he's pointed out that may or may not be as simple as he's making out.

Oh and if you report it that he's not willing to sell the car to you at the auction price he will still have to pay the listing and final sale fees ...........

Good advice there, thanks, I wanted a kind of project anyway really, so the few little bits didnt bother me, but I will try and make him pay a bit for being a pratt.

Report him and if that does nothing then negative him, you are on Zero feedback anyway so it's not as if it is messing up a fine outstanding record!

Not true. Ebay is a 'Marketplace'.

Notice no-where on the ebay site do you see the word 'Auction house'. An auction is a whole different ballgame, and EBay sneek under this because they're dirty bastards.

Personally, with an advert worded like that one, I wouldnt of touched it in the first place. The guys obviously a retard.

Reoport him to eBay (they'll charge him and bollock him), leave bad feedback (he'll leave it for you in return but the red dot and minus score will be removed by eBay) and state that you bought it and it was a ringer. Also state he has people schill bidding on it, he'll be well f*cked if he tries to sell it again. Don't forget to report him for schill bidding too and if he was too stupid to put a reserve on it that's his own tough ****.

Oh, leave your feedback along these lines: 'Car (Cavalier then reg no) was a ringer and has his friends bidding on his item.Avoid at all costs'. That way when the 65 days are up and the link is dead everyone will still know what car it was and that he tried to do you over.
