My Very Special Billing Through the Lens.

    Hello.

Our trip up was largely uneventful, nice Convoy with me, the missus (Sharon SR), Benn, Peter and Byron. We did have a little mishap at the first pit stop:

Pete found this, isn't he lucky? He got to take it home:

So his Cav XE weapon went with one odd Turbo rim. Still, he cheered himself up with ANOTHER set of SuperTouring wheels for the bargain price of £100. So for the second year running he went home with a car full of wheels. lol

Of course you know the SC area by now:

    Byron's so-new-and-secret-I-think-he's-lying Vauxhall saloon:

Some cars what caught my eye:

    Very neat engine bay:

One can always appreciate a clean shell:

    Also:

I loves SAABs, this is exactly the model I want, unless I can pick up a Ruby for like, 25p:

I met Simps too. That was cool:

I managed to finally succumb to the 'flu Sharon's had for the past week, so I didn't walk very far, so obviously I don't have many pics.

    My bargains:

A brand new GTE rear wiper motor (with cover) and seat trim (goes behind the seat back adjustment wheel). Stupidly good deal at £8! A spare set of Mk2 Astra head lights protectors for £15!
Sharon got a rather minty XE plug cover for £5 and a new aerial for a fiver too.

And finally, a MASSIVE thanks to to club members who voted and allowed me to win best standard car! To say I'm chuffed is an understatement. My whole 'standard - but nice' thing has been recognised. I'm glad the GTE won it, it was so near death at one point (vultures were circling for it's engine), this is a hell of a return. Mike Warner even got a little misty eyed as he sat in in for a bit. I got some handy cleaning gear and this spiffing trophy:

Again many thanks for everyone's votes!

    That is all.
    They're there, in their room.

Yup, it was between you and the red nova IMO, but the champagne Astra GTE that made it on our stand too late was minty. Every time i felt the arches it made me tingle, and that wasn't the shards of metal going into my fingertips!

    Very well done mate.

Thanks Dave. The Sport is a proper little shifting machine now with it's new engine (did I menetion the XE ended up costing me £15?). It handles pretty good now after a drop and uprated shock combo. I also fitted new bottom arms and some Yokohama A539s the day before Billing, too.
