every car make has its faults, you can slate any car and say X is better than Y, pretty much every car manufacturer has made something interesting... except maybe yugo....lmao

    Mods round the bend...
    VW famed for reliability! lmao

I remember being at USC a few years back and all the cars were coming through the gates and spanking it. One of the fastest was a Mk2 Golf and it cut out right near our tent, so I went over and uttered the obvious line of 'If only everything in life was as reliable as a Volkswagen!' He had gassed it and popped it in the same morning! lmao

Friend of mine is a main dealer VW mechanic now after being a Vauxhall mechanic for 4 years.

He reckons VWs are worse for recalls & breakdowns than Vauxhalls by far.

The PD diesel engines pretty much pop head gaskets on the mile & the new Passats have recall after recall on most electrical issuses & transmissions.
    it's a C20XE not a fookin Redtop FFS

i know afew people that have bought new vw's and they have far more trouble with them than people with vaux.. even new fords seem to be getting bad for recalls and bits failing early..

if I compare ny dad 06 reg Vectra to the new Passats we have at work... well the passats win hands down far better car IMHO.

that siad Vectra is is 5 years older at least in design terms.

Are you idiots really going to carry on debating an entire car range from two different manufacturers, lol

Both make good and bad cars, simple as that!
