haha, had a funny note placed on my car...

... went to visit some friends down in Chichester this weekend, took the Tramper carlton because, well, its my daily drive! Scrubs up alright on the outside with a wash too.

Anyhow, my friends fiance works for the cathedral, and as such has a flat on a road with all the other employees. I park up on saturday evening (she doesnt finish work til then you see), get handed a "visitors" permit, place it clearly visible on the steering column (no dash remember!) and wonder in.

About 24hours later... the weekends going well, having fun hanging out with friends I havent seen for aaaaages. Some neighbours/friends of friends knock on the door slightly bemused....

"We just found this on Marks car...."
    "Eh?"

    (Handed note)

And on the note it said......

"Can you please move this car from in front of my house, many people have rung my doorbell and asked if it has been abandoned or vandalised. If it is not moved soon I shall call the police"

    !!! lmao

Anyhow, my friends fiance was not at all happy about this, as, after all, my car is road legal, has Tax, MOT, insurance, and Im HIS guest. So goes to confront the letter writers (we guessed it was from the house I was next to)

    So..... Knocks on door....

    Friend- "Is this yours?"
    Woman- "yes"
F "Well the car belongs to my friend, and is road legal and has a parking permit, so whats the issue?"
W "Well Ive had people ask if is been abandoned, I had a look and thought it had been vandalised (see later for my complete explanation of my disbelief at this comment). I saw it had a parking permit but didnt know what to think, I tried calling the police but they were engaged"
F "Well Im sorry the car doesnt meet YOUR standards, but its only been parked there a day!"
W "Well I dont know why anyone would want a crappy car like that anyway I mean...."
Friend interrupts and carries on the conversation quite angrily!

I found it all quite bemusing. Especially asking if its been vandalised?! Thats right love, someone came along, broke into my car without smashing windows, breaking locks or anything else, ripped out my interior, removed it from the road, made sure they didnt disturb the parking permit on the dash, and then left

Abandoned I could maybe see (aside from the tax AND parking permit).

Ah well, I just found it extremely amusing, especially having my car called 'crappy' from a person who owns a silver Rav4 lmao I would of got in on the ruckas, but they arent my neighbours after all and didnt want to cause my friends issues. She became quite friendly/apologetic when she realised that I (in best friendly / posh mode) was the owner of the car!

    Anyone else had similar?>

    F*ck me! lmao

I have had odd comments but nothing I particularly recall.

I like leaving notes when someone parks in really close so you have to wait for another car to move before you can get out! My standard letter reads: 'Next time you park so close to my car can you have the common courtesy to leave me a f*cking tin opener so I can regain entry to my vehicle you self centred tw@. May the flees of a thousand rabid camels infest your arsehole!'

LOL. I was driving my Nova around for a couple months with a severely smashed & cvurled in bonnet & grille. I put all new lights in it & lined them up. But I was just getting stared at by almost every motorist & pedestrian. Actually got to the point where I was so fed up with people looking that I was flipping the bird to 90% of fellow road users. NOT GOOD.

I guess people thought I was a risk to their safety. fixed now though.

My friend drove around with a smashed up front end on his escort (lights were replaced, sharp bits removed) for a while, and everyone got out of his way and let him out at junctions! lmao If I ever move back into london the daily driver will have to be nicely crash damaged LOL
