i went to view this when it was on ebay, thinking it may be good to break for parts. Its a complete mess, it is a genuine lotus but has been stolen and ringed with a GSi identification, theyve even ground down the cam cover to get rid of the lotus writing. To be honest its not worth all that much now, a lot of the lotus bits are either missing or in very bad condition. Doubt the engine would be any good either, lots of bodged and missing bits and generally looks like its been ran into the ground, and been kept running by either removing or bodging things. There are a few decent useable bits left but not enough to make it worth buying for the price they wanted for the whole car, think their breaking it now.
Is a shame really, that must have once been someones pride and joy.

Yeah he’s right it’s a f*ckin shed :yuck: :yuck:
The shells rotten as a carrot and got the wrong numbers in it...... and it has indeed been run in to the ground.
I had the job with one of the other mechanics to try and get it up and running, it runs BUT wont rev and sounds terrible on top end, deffo gonna need a full strip down.
Some lad in Israel has bought the engine, box, loom, brain bonnet vents, and a few other bitz from it   thank Christ he’s paying by bank transfer lol
You could re-shell it into a reliant robin and it would still be a shed, imo it needs a full rebuild on the engine, Christ knows if the box is good or not as the car wont rev high enough to drive it, so you could be spending money there as well.
The trims terrible – id rather sit on a wet 100 year old pig
Trust me if it was any good I would have had it myself – all good things come to a end and this is the best place for it
these cars are awsome weapons and as it states they need oil changes regular as well as other bits, if its been nicked ringed etc strip it down and weigh it in, very sad that a car like that had to die to the hands of amatures who dont know what theyve got bit like ringin an f50 into a fiesta
I’ll be quite honest the stitching in of the numbers was very good, possibly one of the best rung cars I’ve seen. The letter box was stitched in very well.
had it have been any other car, rung with the right type of car I don’t think it would of ever come to light. They would have been better swapping every thing over to a GSi (or any other type of sell for that mater) – instead of ringing it, then it would obviously never have been caught out as being a ringer when it had the slight front end tap.
sad end for one of the best cars ever built. but hey should maybe keep a few other Good condition LC's going in parts for a wee bit longer.
