    Which engine hoist?

    As above.

Two clarke ones on Machine Mart, both same price, but one lifts 1/2 tonne and the other lifts 1 tonne?
But the 1/2 tonne one lifts higher than the 1 tonne one, lol.

go with at least a 1 tonne.

the lifting capacity reduces with extension.

with my 1 tonner at a good reach, it's rated for 1/4 tonne.

    I've got the Sealey one.

Ian T has a 2 tonner, and that pumps up on the upstroke and downstroke so lifts faster.

    people up walls

    hoist

As said above, go with the biggest capacity as the higher you lift the harder the hoist has to work

i got the 1 tonne, if you can wait for it to arrive, theres one on "tools by post" that is the same spec and comes with a free load leveller, which I had to buy separately.
Selling - PC and lots of meg's cleaning stuff, random z18(xe / xer) and z16(xe / xep) parts.

    any hoist is good,
they'll all lift an engine up and over the front of a nova...
