because the 4 wheel drive system they made was ****e and expensive to fix!

    simple as really lol

vaux want to make cheap cars and sell for as much ££££ as poss. no point having a car that the majority of the market knows gonna break. of course the minority will argue (enthusiasts replies argueing prooves it )

to redeisgn a 4 wheel drive system costs a hell of a lot of money..........

on top of that you would have to be sure the model was a good seller and the market wanted it.

    not vauxhalls market at all.........

The actual reason was, the Vectra B was based on a platform that didn't have a 4x4 option.

Whereas the Calibra/Cav was built on the J-platform, which did People slate the Cav/Cally Turbo, but they are the quickest and most stable Vauxhalls of that era and actually proved good cars... which is more than can be said about the Nova or Corsa.

Cheap and cheerful, like the lack of rwd motors too.
Keep putting more and more power through the front wheels. Is a nice balance though, fronts for steering, rears for propulsion. With 4x4/rwd, have the better weight distribution too.
Astra Vxr in rwd, wouldn't mind one of them

pretty much exactly like ford did.........

rs heritage vs vaux gte there is no comparison in terms on engineering/motor sport

if vaux only spent a wee bit more on design theyde have had some cracking motors that not just us enthusiasts buy and fix

why cant they do the same design chassis platform again...i would have really liked a factory veccy 4x4...and it is true the 4x4 cav/callys were great cars, its just that people dont know how to maintain them...think about it, look at benns nova??? you think it is gonna rust or have a mechanical problem anytime soon?? i dont because he takes care of his car

The Vectra C chassis was designed to take 4x4........and as mentioned Vauxhall never built the 4x4, as with a lot of components that all car companies use it was bought in from other manufacturers. Theres also not a lot of call for a 4x4 car in that sector, no other manufacturer really offer it, Fords 4x4 Mondeo was hardly a big success.
Couldn't think of anything good to put in here.
