    Its a clever system that recycles exhaust gasses containing unburnt fuel back into the engine. Under partial load, 25% of the fuel/air mixture going into the engine is actually made up of already burnt exhaust gasses and the result is a big improvement in efficiency. Its all done by synchronised electronic management of the fuel injectors, the emission control and the 3-way catalytic converter.

    Basically, it improves fuel economy, makes it cleaner on the environment, and somewhat improves performance.
