I liked it, nice and different, wasn't keen on the rear lights though.

Fook Me!
Stunning
Vaux got it wrong .... thats what they should have done!
H'mm dunno, back lights are grossPersonally would have gone for original astra round headlights. You dont see many of those around. Looks different though
to him.
Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive, anyway.
Mk1 astras didn't have round head lights originally. Unless it had a quad conversion

with outthe i/c ram in the front it would havew been cool,
I'm louder than gods own revolver and twice as shiney.
I think the front end looks nice with the golf bits, not sure on the i/c, but I guess it has to go somewhere.
Tinted standard rear lights I think would have been nicer IMO, but each to their own and afor keeping a mk1 on the road.

loved that car, i thought it was one of the best in the show.
the conversion was really pulled off well, really does look factory fitted
Owns a white Mk3 turbo diesel with more stopping power then engine power..... boosting 0.9bar, Now De-catted!!
I also thought some models came with a single round set up, possibly the realy early models with the funny boot lid set up?Originally Posted by mattc

Had loads of mk1's in the past .
Did take these though .
Only took a few not many mk1's there this year would probably still swap my cav turbo for a xe mk1 .

Yes know what you mean but even though the screen doesn't go up with the boot would hardly call it a saloon realy but spose it is in a way . Doesn't look that much different from a hatch realy .
Nearly got one of those terrible irmischer grilles for my first mk1 , glad I didn't .
Any mk1 peeps viewing this thread and fancy a non rusty Cav T with a very recent rebuilt engine but no leather and a bit scruffy give me a shout![]()
i would give both arms and legs for a mk1 astra as mint as those
B472 YUS which was owned by a guy from scotland for donkey years - I wish I was aware he sold it, would have bitten his arm off!! It was a real shame to see it being driven by some spotty oik at PVS who for some unknown reason was sat in neutral revving it everywhere I walked!

I think you'll find that the new owner of that car had asked said oik, (my mate) to race his car up the strip (as he is a quater mile expert) but was poppin and banging at high boost. I was in the car with him going to the strip and we didn't sit in neutral and rev it but did give it some death on the way to the sign in office. So sorry to disapoint youOriginally Posted by The Simps

Bit unsensitive that wasn't it?
That spotty oik, gotta laugh though, is a good mate of all the Mk1 owners and a damned fine 1/4 mile racer....Kinda like the Mk1 Stig
It was the cars fisrt proper outing on the 1/4 mile for quite a while and it was kinda like it's shake down to see what it could do. It needs a bit of tweaking and that's why you heard it being revved up because it was misfirig slightly and the "oik" was trying to ascertain what the matter was.....
The car is now owned by another club member who is plannig on taking great care of it and has owned a fair few Mk1's in his time and ploughed good money into keeping some on the road, like the Blue one above for instance.

Out with the old and in with the even older...bye bye MK1 Astra Turbo.....Hello V8 Cresta
Fair play then and my apologies. As a passer by it looked like it had a new young owner who was abusing it.
