Head update! It's on the way, meanwhile Mr Billy man sent me some info. Interesting points are:
"..contrary to popular belief - a highly polished cylinder head or clean exhaust manifold does not promote engine efficiency..."
"...as they tend to cause:
1) Extra heat loss
2) Loss of swirl
3) Lower compression ratio"
"...maximum power and efficiency will be reached when the cylinder head has covered 3000 - 5000 miles..."
Also an article on oil changes.
"all the best engines, to date, have been those in which the oil is changed at or around 3,000 mile intervals. Exceptional ones are often high mileage cars (100,000 miles plus), with enthusiastic and fastidious ownder who dislike dirty engine oil".
