Angry What computer game pisses u off the most when u get beat?

Was just doing a championship on GT3 with a 1021bhp GTO and almost broke my leg with a hefty right hand after getting pipped again by some spoiler'd up racing/Le mans thing. I've been on it for about an hour and a half. Was doing well til the last two races of 10. For some reason the VR-4 turbo thing handles like a Whale with a yeast infection and god knows why it gets worse 1 lap in. There I am wasting everything and then the piece of jap crap decides it wont go round corners and every other sucker on the field pulls past.

Seeing as I was in a severe state of rage til I attacked my parent's washing machine, I just wondered, what game has pissed you off the most since you have been playing?

My mate used to get more angry than me. I remember years ago when the SNES first came out he bought Streetfighter 2 for £75 on Import!!

He was on M.Bison at the end, using Chun-Li, something like his 93rd attempt at beating him. Innevitably he got his arse kicked and then proceeded to put a large fist sized hole in his wall. Once he had calmed down a few percent we then heard voices from downstairs. It was people coming to view the house, as it was on the market. Oops! Luckily there was a calender on the wall, so that was re-located. Even though the hole went right into the roof/attic thing which of course, you could walk in and out of.

    Damn you 'Pong'.

Yeah Gran Turismo caused many items to be thrown around in rage, specially after spending a good hour on a certain set of races.

Tekken is another one, espaecially wen you dont get a look in wen your mate is kikin cr@p out of ya with all these combo's

Driver was another one wen i kept failing missions

Resident Evil - after i spent a good hour finding out which chemicals to mix together with out killing myself.

Delta Force 2 on me PC is another one, you plan your moves, crepp up on the enemy, spend time getting into positions, then some tosser shoots ya, whilst you pick the wrong weapon and blow your self up with a grenade.

    Theres just a few

I used to find FIFA Soccer on the Sega Mega Drive II used to really get me mad, I'd be England doing really well......solid defence and all......then somehow the Pooter would switch into unstoppable mode and score from things like goal kicks or something unlikely like that!!
Ended up smashing 4 joypads playing that game......I'm all okay now, coz I like to play strategy games on the PC (when it works) and they don't cause me to see the red mist!!

Yeah it's definitely got to be Gran Turismo. For some reason if you're going to spin it will be on the last corner of the last lap. And if it was caused by a computer car then that makes it doubly worse.

Also there's a game called Insane on the PC which is an off-road racer. I think they called it insane as that's what it drives you. Many a dented object after playing that game.

I think my mate from school had to be the worse though. Even if it was my game, if he lost he'd rip the cartridge out and throw it across the room. Very short temper that bloke.

Hehe.. everyone has a mate like that. The kind where you are wiping the floor with them at footy, or fighting or some driving game and then you lose a little or hold back a bit so they don't kick the crap out of your cat when they get stuffed.

going back a bit here, but i punched my sinclair zx-128 spectrum in half whilst on the 1000th try at level something or other on R-Type, its one of those games where you die on the same bit over and over, and although you know where you die you keep making the same mistake. More recent it was Boxing legends of the ring on my SNES emulator on my PC, could i not beat jake lemota.

I can't stand Crock on the Play Station. I can never get past the bit where you have to jump on the big monsters head 3 times!

Think it might just be me that likes these platform games then!

    LOL, that's sooo true

Whenever I used to race my mate on Gran Tursimo I'd coast down the straights to try and let him catch up. Then if he got big headed I'd suddenly go 100% and start lapping him. Ah the feeling of power

    Cool

We all have fond memories of games and machines in years gone by. But you know that if you were to look at them now they'd have worse graphics than the most recent Nokias and that's a little depressing.

Has anyone who owns GT3 put GT2 on to compare? It looks like what i remember 'Buggy Boy' to be like on my Spectrum 48k (which I didn't punch in half 0ddball).

I used to like Beach head, Trap Door and the best Spectrum game ever, Renegade!!

Was studying the graphics on GT3 earlier when not maiming myself and they are awesome. PS3 is meant to have photo quality graphics at worst. Just out of interest, do you like your computer games to look like games with excellent graphics or would you prefer film qualty graphics?

Bl00dy el tim you goin back a bit, i remember all those, specially buggy boy, cool game, Out Run was a bit cack, remember Green Beret, i played that all the time.

Wen you look back its amazing how games have evolved, even graphics on ps1 look rubbish now wen compared with 2 and my pc, specially colin mcrae on ps1 compared with rally championship on the pc.

Ps3 - what is that?? Is this just a rumour

Monkey island on the amiga 600was another good un, i used to marvel at it 2mb memory, wow , and jaguar xj220 was good, if not a bit easy

Far from it mate, it was being developed before the PS2 went on sale. It's meant to have the power of 10 or 20 PS2's and like I said, the graphics will apparently be of film quality a la' Mad Dog Macree.

CAN YOU REMEMBER LOADING GAMES FROM CASSETTE! LOL

You could go and have your dinner, have a dump, shower, watch the Bill and it would still be screeching and flashing pretty lines up and down the sides of the screen. Good help ya if it chrashed whilst loading!

    Good old Speccy!

    lol,

Yeah the pretty hypnotising flashing lines, blu, green, yellow, etc, then the picture would load up, 1 row of pixels at a time, till it was complete. Oh the good ol days.

Ps3- hmmmm cant wait for that one.

Do you remember the Philips CDi (not a car), i was gonna get one of them, good job i didnt cause they didnt last long

I am the master at nearly buying products that subsequently plumeted!

Phillips CD-i (my mate did buy one)

Atari Falcon (don't know anyone who bought one, I got a PC instead)

Atari Lynx (like most Atari stuff, techinically excellent, software and marketing let it down).

    Atari Jaguar (see comments above).

Yep I did like Atari after having numerous STFM's and STE's. Amigas were always better though. I remember arguing with this bloke for about 3 years on the school bus *that's about 14 different seats*. I used to say the ST was better than the Amiga, even though it wasn't. I did buy one after that

never owned a SEGA, liked loads of Megadrive games though.

Yeah I have to agree that Street Fighter 2 turbo was an absolute nightmare, once broke the joypad when I through it, got me so mad.

Gran Turismo aswell when I used to play it at mates house.

hmmm, Mario Kart, when I thought I was about to win then f**king Luigi would bomb past with his invisibilty on and hit me and then i'd come 5th or something grrrrrr

    Instant solution.

Don't play on your own, all games get easy soon anyways and its not as much fun.

Get a night in, a bottle of red and some after bottle beverages.
Invite a mate or so round, lob GT2 in the playstation and off you go, hours of fun, no rants and raves (well a few once your really pissed but all in good spirit ...****in nudging the back bumper on the chicane at 200kph.....etc etc..)

Anyways, thats why computers were invented, so use them that way.

PS-anyone know where I can get a really (I mean really) cheap PS2 so I can see what GT3 is like.

    Thumbs up

Just go into a computer games shop and play it. The graphics are comparable to SEGA Rally 2, maybe even better, not sure.

Not sure my mates wouldn't wonder what I was up to inviting them round to share a bottle of red wine with me? And not sure my gf would like me inviting any old tart back for a go on my console.

There was an ad on Itv 1 about 15 mins ago for GT3 on the PS2. Something about getting carried away by the realism or summat.

My current 'feck me, not again' game is (still) Unreal Tournament.
Finished it twice so far, so now playing it on godlike setting,
and getting well and truly pasted.
That's in part to only having p2 300,64mb ram, a massive total of 400meg left on my hard drive and a whopping 19fps while (trying ) to play it.

And speaking of Speccy games, does anyone remember Chuckie Egg ? There's an online version of that too.

    lol@sho_off...cheeky caaaant.

As for going in to the shop and playing it, fair enuff, but then I aint getting the 2 player drunken races with the mates, which are much more fun.

I can see the store workers getting upset at us marching in 3 or 4 of us with deckchairs for seats, cracking open a bottle of buckfast each and starting to play in the middle of the store for a few hours till we run out of drink.

but, thansk for the suggestion anyways.

ooo nice one Dav1d, Unreal Tournament is a top game, I find it very addictive, we'll have to connect and have a game.

Who remembers JET SET WILLY?? Now that is an old game but again very addictive
