Got into the car to come home from my sons guitar lesson, started the engine - loud screeching noise, battery light on, no PAS. Looks like the aux drivebelt tensioner has dropped to bits, jamming the belt

Could be worse I guess - tensioner is only £34. If it had been the PAS pump thats a lot more

to Autovaux - all parts in stock and will be with me on Monday. Decided to do the timing belt/idlers/tensioner too while I'm working in that region, though its only done 25K miles

In this one you can see the tensioner pulley has fallen forward against the engine mount

The remains of the drivebelt - I had to cut it off. You can see the kinked bit where it jammed between the tensioner roller and body.
