    My Seven kit car

I took some photos before I move this to a place with powerpoints (it was previously on someone else's driveway - hence the surface rust!) and spend every spare second on the remaining summer completing it.

Photo's don't look too great at the moment, but all the hard work is done, apart from the rear axle, with has to be done next.

Inside - needs dashboard panel, lots of wires. I'm using the wiring from an Astra GSi with the GTE clocks, it will have a bit of check control with an MFD. I'm using Calibra leather seats for the heating reason. Will replace existing 'weathered' scuttle panel with a cleaner one.

The backend - fuel tank, axle, roll bar, wheels, etc.

The front end - the engine is 'in situ', (engine and gearbox had to be removed due to relocating) the mounts are all in place, the rack is in place and steering rod all sorted, links for wishbones in place - basically, it's all done up at this end. 1600 Pinto will be used, but I might use an XE or LET purely because I know the Vauxhall's pretty well ... 1600 should be enough though.

Type 9 and wishbones, and Cortina uprights.

Exhaust - the pinto is so narrow, the manifold can't be any good at all.

It will be moved tommorow, and will be working on it pretty much everynight for the next 4 months! Got bored with the very limited modding scene, I'd advise anyone who is thinking of it to set out doing this. The SVA is a long and distant vision at the moment, but extremely impatient to progress!

It's just big boy's meccano!! The more you read and research you realise how different and liberating it is to modifying an Astra for example. The scrapyard is your oyster. I'm doing the dashboard at the moment in my house, using thick plastic and padded, faux leather. It's the fact that you are planning on how you would want a car to function.

It's also suspiciously easy, like you're waiting for something to go disastrously wrong, but it doesn't.

Great project. I am trying to persuade the missus at the minute I need one in the garage.
For sale, Calibra bits. Two Stainless exhausts. One stainless decat. Airbag. Lots of bits lying around.
