Vectra GSi information 2.5 and 2.6

Hi, I am going to buy a Vectra GSi when the right one turns up, so far I have seen two, one was in bad condition the other clocked, so not good so far.

I would like to know the differance between the two, 2.5 and 2.6, so far I understand that the 2.5 has more BHP but less torque and was about £3k more from new, why?

The 2.6 has the xenons option and thats about all I know.

Does the 2.6 have a better aircon system? as the 2.5 uses the old system that reduces fuel consumption.

Is the timing belt due at 40k?

Any info on buying would be welcomed, thanks.

Timing belt is still 40k.
2.6 came in for new (harsher) emissions rules I believe, hence the extra cc.
