right then all. Im after an unbiased opinion on the matter of whether chavs cally t will be quickier than my mates pulsar gti-r over a quater mile. Im sure your all aware of chavs spec so no need for me to harp on about that. The pulsar however is standard except a filter and cat-back system so should be putting out in the region of 230bhp give or take a bhp or 2. I have asked on the gtiroc forum and they all conceive that pulsar will be quickier as it stands now. He is however fitting a HKS EVC gen 5 Boost controller and hybrid front mount this week so with boost at around 1 bar, should be at the 290-300bhp mark.

Now given, in standard spec (the pulsar) im not sure which will be quickier, but when the pulsaris running near 300bhp, i think there is no contest!!

cheers for your opinions

let it in one ear and out the other  people are always slating cally handling, mines lowered and on 17`s.
handles tons better than what my GTE 16v, or mk3 SRI ever did, even out handles my hubbys champion turbo on roundabouts :D
Even a standard Calibra handles superb, lowering makes some difference but not significant, you can't improve a something that is already at its best chracteristic, most people who slag Calibra's handling have either never driven a Calibra seriously enough, they may have jumped in a mate's Cally and driven two blocks around the estate and then conclude about its handling. I have lost all cars I have driven so far including front wheel drives but Calibra hasn't given me the oppertunity to see its limit.:p

Every time chav posts i think ive seen the limit of blinkered stupidity, but you reguarly pop up and prove that ive underestimated calibra owners in that respect lmao

ive thrown mine around brands hatch, and won, twice from stand still starts :D against a "proper" race driver in her 1.8 puma...and boy was she peeved  , with the excuse of your engine is bigger, to my reply your car is lighter and your used to racing the track :p

and they are go

to be honest, both cars are completely ****e, when compared to one of these:

or one of these:

you can argue all day, the calibra is randomly still quite good areodynamically. The only other thing they are good for is making money out of. The pulsar.... its a nissan sunny with a big motor, which is nice, when cadburies finest gearbox doesn't blow up. otherwise... its just.... a nissan sunny!!

carrera 4........... calibra.......... carrera 4......... calibra.......... carrera 4........ I know, the aged rusty p reg ecowreck, out does a 911. Thats why the calibra is worth £10, the 911 is worth £75,000.

Thats why everyone buys 2 litre ecowreck calibras for track days...

Pass another whisky.... lets see how blind we can get MSG

well ive owned 5 astras, mk1, 2 ,and 3 :D but my cally handles the best by far ;)

Same front suspension, and far more weight, and you reckon it handles better?

Fair enough the IRS is a slight improvement on the beam, but i think you must have had needed new bushes etc on all your astras or something if the calibra is really better?

retarded or senile, makes no odds to me, this is the reason why I joined Mig Web in the first place where we all have something in common, be that senality or retardedness, but we all have it and I am glad I am not alone.

without a doubt yes it`s better! feels tad slower than my 16v GTE obviously  but by far handles, and feels safer at excessive speeds, and on hard cornering

Oh and I am not alone as I said, there was a thread on Mig a while back (2003) well befiore I joined Mig, that thread was on Calibra and it speaks for itself,

Without a Calibra Engines in your Astras,Corsas, & strangely Minis, none of you could open your mouths wide enough, so basically Calibra engines have given you the oomph factor.

MSG, the engine in the calibra was nicked from the astra and cavalier, as was almost everything else, there is nothing at all mechanically that the calibra donates that didnt exist anyway, the only thing it has that no other vauxhall does is limited rear headroom.

Having owned and therefore driven Novas, Astras, Corsas, Cavaliers, Escorts, Sierras, Golfs etc etc and a Calibra, all i can say is the handling of the Cally was the worst of the bunch. It was one of the only cars i changed the shocks and springs on to get an improvement and it was no different :( 'Pushing' it into corners only brought terror to your senses and that was in no way in excess of my driving ability.

Other than that it was a great car lol lmao
