    Question F.A.O All Computer Boffins

    Wondering If Anyone can help answer this question?

    Heres the deal, I downloaded a 30 day trial of a software package, but forgot to change the date so it didn't run out. I have tried to delete all trace of software so I can download it again. However when I download the software again and go to use it it tells me the 30 days are up on the trial. Having searched the Pc to try and find where the information was been stored to tell the trial had expired I think it is these to files

    System which is located in C:\Windows and is 5225kb and is a dat file

    User located in the same place as the first file and is 677kb and also a dat file.

    They are both read only and hidden files.

    What I want to know is if it is ok to delete these files? are they just useless stored info, or are they needed?

    don't delete those two files, as they contain your system registry. the registry is where your computer configuration info is stored.

    what was the name of the program? if you have deleted all trace of the program files, there may be a couple of registry keys installed by the prog.

    goto the start menu, select run and type in regedit. goto the edit menu, select find, and type in the name of the prog. if any keys with the name of the prog are found, delete them, restart, and then try to install the prog again!

    And I'll bet the registry keys that are used to note the days remaining are labelled something other than the name of the software or anything related to it.

    I have had a program like that, but when I want to use it I simply doctor the date setting on the desktop, then change it back afterwards. This only works for software you don't have to register.

    the program is an audio package mixmeister volume 3, I use it for editing my mp3's and calculating the bpms. It is a handy package to have but I don't really want to shell out $40 on a registration key.

    Gaz1210: do you need the player of the whole program. if it just the player you are after for flash programs on the net then go to http://www.macromedia.com/software/flashplayer/ and click download. if it's the whole thing let us know and I'll find out.

    and here is the crack for it Crack File
    when you run the crack it has to be done in the same folder as the program.
