Perhpas it was that then-correct me if I'm worng. Can't see something as simple as that stoping him though when he had the legendary Richard Bell doing all the work for him.

yeah i also think that the shell scott bought might not have been as clean as was first thought, also i think once the turbo was built all energy to build another slower car goes out the window

Keep it as it is then. Repair/restore it and sell it on at a profit.

nah dont think theres profit in the car, not by the time its MOT'd, taxed and has has the arches sorted out and the 4x4 fixed.

The engines going into the astra, I'll think of something.

I haven't fully read the post so forgive me if this is not the info your after or its already been said.

You want to put an XE with F20 into a 4x4 Turbo shell?

You can use the FWD subframe, however the ARB will foul the floorpan as its a different shape. I removed the front ARB for a quick solution, with the 40mm drop it doesn't roll and front end grip is also increased.

Personally Id sort the shell out and txb and run that. Find a Turbo somewhere else for the Astra.....just a personal opinion like.
Couldn't think of anything good to put in here.

Why would you need to tax it? Convert to FWD put it through an MOT and sell it.

I want to use the car as my everyday car, not sell it. GTE wont be used everyday when its done it wont really be that practical!

    Dont want 2 LETs either.

I'll sort the 4x4 shell out and use that with the XE and 16v subframe, theres one in my local breakers.

    Nice buy Brett!

Thats a good plan of attack, take the LET out and put it in the GTE, and XE the calibra for an everyday runner, I may be able to help ya as well cus I got a calibra FWD C20XE subframe, bottom arms and ARB which you can have cheap from that Calibra I just broke, you can even have the rear beam from me as well if you want to remove the rear diff etc from the Cally T......

Give me a ring tonight or something and we'll have a chat mate...

Good point there... no use having the prop, diff and rear shafts if you're FWD

At the end of the day, all this is is a rusty cally, the rear arches are crusty, its been welded around the front suspension turrets where they always go and there are holes in the sill. Pictures are a year old.

I Could break this car completely, fit the kit, wheels brakes and suspension to my current cally 16v, the LET into my Astra and my brother wants the leather interior for his Astra GSi.

However I will listen to offers for the shell without the engine/box/loom/ECU but with everything else included. 600 no offers as thats a bit less than what its worth in bits to reflect less hassle.

The car looks stunning Brett! If the LET is destined for the Astra and 4x4 isn't an option with the XE, there could be an opportunity to think outside the box a bit here. As the tunnel is already in place, how about you mount the XE 'sideways' and go for a RWD Cally?

not scared to breakm it Adam, I will if no one buys it. I'll let it go as a rolling shell as its less hassle and if someone like it that much they are welcome to it.

one things for sure, the LET is going into the GTE

should be done by april at this rate!

If the car doesnt sell whole I'll fit the kit to my 16v mate, its the same colour so I'll just swap the bumper, boot and skirts

    Very cool mate! Good pics!

How much are the kits worth with/without the arches. It's the only kit I'd ever put on mine TBH

bugger me, deffinatly breaking this bugger now, want to keep the kit for the 16v, if I ever found those arches!

Frankly the sooner its on the better too. Im converting the 16v to 5 stud and keeping the wheels. I'll have a replica of the Turbo Ive got, but without the rust!
