Nice sexy billet one, this is the route i will be going with the engine im starting to spec out now to replace this one when i kill it with too much power.
I'll go farndon probably if i cant get what i want out of my current engine, ive never had my own billet crank so only have secondhand experience from friends engines, MADrod would be the person i would be following for spec if he is prepared to give much away as he has exactly what i would want.

Yes SBD do sell them (cant remember the make), there was a thread a while ago of someone who had put a let into a Cateram and had looked into a few cranks and the DKE came highly recommended. He wasnt running the power you are going for though just the rpm of something like 9000+.
IF and its a big IF as im not sure there is much point in building one for a mini i was to build such an engine, i would want to swap to a bigger housing on the GT35R turbo i have to allow me to make 600bhp off gas, and then i would want to run a few hundred bhp of gas too.
Unless you are building it for 800-900 bhp like MADrod's cossie, then i cant see its worth the hassle.
Will depend on what happens with transfer boxes and gearboxes etc as i woudlnt bother unless i went 4wd.
Im currently thinking that 500bhp+ in a 600kg car should be "plenty" TBH so i suspect that i wont go down the route of needing any more as i may not ever have enough traction to use enough power to kill my current engine.
But would you start with another Vauxhall set-up to get those sort of power levels as you have said before if you knew what you know now you wouldnt have started with Vauxhall.

A mate of mine was running 11s with 200bhp (in a VERY light car though admittedly, like more like 300kgs)
Weight is just as important as power in drag racing, lots of people seem to forget that!
I know this engine is for your Mini, but to go for more power you said you would have to go 4wd to use the advantage of the exrta hp so what would it go in?

I only work on the engine wednesday evenings at my friends workshop, never for more than a couple of hours, yesterday i left my office at 1:30 this morning, so didnt get to go down there at all.
So main thing holding it up is the lack of any free time due to work commitments.
Only other thing holding me up now is RobbieS making me a manifold as the one i have just isnt 500bhp+ material in my opinion.
