    Smile M25 hidden speed cameras

Hello! I'd be so grateful for any advice about the hidden gantries speed cameras on the M25 between junctions15 and 16 - the Heathrow to Uxbridge section. Does anyone know if they really do operate there,or if there are just signs and lines on the road, but no cameras, and if they always flash or not?
I have 9 points and might have gone at 70mph instead of the red sign saying 60 that was lit up on the gantry in all 4 lanes. I didn't see a flash though so might i be ok?? I would be so grateful for any information anyone has about this out there....thank you so much, deborah, wiltshire.

There are several gantries with boxes on, but they look wrong, too small, and they don't have the ariel for the atomic clock etc that the real ones have, so in short, I am not sure.....

All the gantries ive looked at from Watford down to Staines all have nothing underneath them?!?! I thought they just painted the lines on the road and put the signs up to slow people down?

Although most times its impossible to do 70mph on the M25 lmao

You might be lucky if they are set to 10% + 1-3 mph, start counting to 14, you'll soon find out.

the cameras are inside the gantries, if you look in your rear view mirror you'll see them.
as for them working , there was a big hoohar a while ago when they installed the cameras.
They installed the old style cameras b4 the digital came out and wouldnt stump up the cash for engineers to refill tha cameras

Whether this has changed now , i dont know

I've seen one of the new gantry cameras flash on this stretch of the M25 in a speed restricted area. Wether they have film or are digital is probably only someone in the know will be able to confirm.

    Ohhhh They Work

    Ok, 14 days and counting!!!

Travel round the M25 in that area every day, I never mess when the speed limit is lit up however, coming home tonight on my Honda CBRxx Super Blackbird a car wanted a race...well who am I to decline such a nice offer so, 3 seconds later and I have gone from 90 to 120 when Flash Flash Bugger! The sign was not illuminated but I have been caught well and truly.

So, here we are in the 14 day NIP countdown. Some other sites have said they are digital and others say they are not....only time will tell!!

So, by now you think I am a prat for racing and extremely childish...well you are correct although I have had a clean licence for 4 years and any way, he started it.

I will post an update every Post day that nothing arrives.

My Snooper never goes off when passing gantries, so presume there are none. Those Heathrow roadworks section are a right ******* for speed cameras though.

100% Gantry. I have been doing a lot more research as you can imagine and have found some interesting information.

    1) This link is link to someone who challenged the gantry findings and how he won.
    http://groups.google.co.uk/group/uk....3bef2bea7f3a03

    2) Looks like in the new section of the M25 by H-Row they are using either the new digital cameras or distance/speed cameras.

    3) Majority of people have not received a ticket from the ones that flashed me. (Bet I F**king do)

    4) People have said that only one camera per gantry is ever in use at one time. (Ahhh, my luck again runs out)

    5) Looks like the one that flashed me was film...hope it was empty.

    6) Think I am ****ting myself as over 100 and it is an instant court appearance.

    7) If any won wants to meet with me I will be hanging round the M25 area that i was caught at with a paint-ball gun ready to take out any one who goes up there. (Only for 13 more days) lmao

    8) Just found out, The Ones from the M3 round past H-Row heading to Watford and of course in the opposite direction are the new digital ones. Go Careful

I would also like to say that i do not advise any one to speed as it is stupid and should only be attempted on a race track under supervision.

    10 Days to go

Well, Post arrived today but nothing nasty. I recon that tomorrow & Wednesday will be the critical days.

Because I am so happy that today nothing has arrived please find this extremely good link which will take you to advice on how to avoid a speeding ticket and how, when and if you receive one, to cause as much problems as possible which should result in the NIP being dropped.

    http://www.solvo.co.uk/info/othertips.htm

You will have to scroll down the document but when you read it I think you will all agree that tit is well worth saving for future reference.

Over the weekend I have been doing a lot of thinking about how to get out of this should the worst happen. The Three choices are as follows.

    1) Say that it is not my bike and must be a clone. Remove all distinguishing marks.

    2) Fight it, say that I was not doing over a ton and that the camera could not have been calibrated. Using the tips from the above link this could result in 3 points and a hefty fine but no ban.

    3) Put my hands up to the offence and say that I was in need of the toilet due to an upset tummy. (Would any judge want a grown man to crap himself) One key advantage of this is that you can say that it was a call of nature and you where heading for a safe spot you know to pull over. (It is illegal to pull over on the hard shoulder to have a crap) lmao | this comes under the plea of Guilty with mitigating and if you throw in a letter from the boss and show it will cause loss of job and hardship you might get away with a 1 month ban + Fine and a Speed driving day.

Well, I hope that some of the above might come in helpful for some of you and some point.

    So, until tomorrow.
