I havent been here for a while, because I very nearly contemplated ripping my Phase 3.5 Cav Turbo to pieces and ending my love of all things Vauxhall!
This car has been nothing but problems since I bought it from John Timkeys, when its running right, its a dream car that spanks a lot more expensive motors with ease, when its not running right (i.e. something ELSE has gone wrong with it!) I do wonder why I'm bothering at all.
L***MOO is currently sat on my ex-girlfriends drive, and has been sat there for two months.
Over the past four months, the car has had the following work:
1). New Clutch
2). New Flywheel
3). New Discs front and Back
4). New Locking wheel nuts
5). Replacement wheels
6). New lower arm
7). Replacement driveshaft
8). New Alternator
9). New Battery
Unfortunately, the alternator was badged up wrong, and instead of being a 70amp output, was in fact a 100amp output. Needless to say, the battery didn't last too long before it exploded under the bonnet..... setting fire to the main engine loom!
The Turbo has also let go AGAIN, and will cost in the region of £650 to have it changed over to a Hybrid unit capable of putting out 20psi all day long without bitching about it. NEVER trust AET Turbos EVER!
Anyway, the crux of this message is hopefully to glean some info.
All the wiring from the engine to the main loom harness plug is intact. The wiring that goes from the main harness plug to the bulkhead is toast. I need to cut out a large section of wiring to fix the problem.
Now obviously, a large section cut from a Calibra/Cavalier Turbo will fit, but does anyone know if the wiring on a GSi 2ooo/16v GTe is identical? If anyone has a ripped up GSi/GTe that still has this wiring intact, then I'd be willing to pay, because at the moment, I have a car worth £3500 sat on the drive doing nothing which is doing my head in.
If anyone does, please email me on galahadfairlight@yahoo.co.uk with details so I can resurrect her!
In the meantime, I'm driving around in an £85 L Reg Cavalier GLS 1.7TD hatchback that only needed a replacement clutch...... and I have to say, I abuse it daily, and it still goes! So not everything with a Turbo is unreliable sh!t!!
I really need this piece of loom so please contact me ASAP, and if anyone has a cheap KKK knocking around that I can use temporarily, that would be welcome as well.
